I hear that many of you want to work in the figure industry? How about the 1/1 scale variety then? I guess this is where you would work.
These dolls are of the Level D variety and cost 682,500 yen each. Still prefer the looks of Candy Girl Ai-chan.

Image via Tabo-san.
And for those who have not seen it yet - Interview with Tabo-san below.

No snide remarks about Tabo-san please.

    Somehow this picture freaks me out.

    Then again, even mannequins makes me feel a bit awkward. Strange since i love collecting figs.

        It's almost alienesque.

        Then again. A job is a job. Would prefer to work at something like hobbysearch or so though. That warehouse... <3

    This is a tough question... I would have to either work with Dollfies or Candy Girls. O.o I like the fact that they can wear cute outfits and change poses. Probably the dollfie factory, because I would certainly mistake those for decapitated people far less than Candy Girls on the conveyor belt. ^^; Though you CAN trade clothes with a Candy Girl provided you're the same size... <.<; I would definitely treat them like giant Dollfies. ^.^

    I can totally relate to that guy though. Asexuality isn't something weird, it's a normal preference like any other, so I quite understand why he wouldn't want such relationships with people.

    Yeah, a lot of us are creeping out over this. Oddly, it's currently accepted as state of the art. Lets look backwards some forty years ago. A guy with a collection of female dolls would instantly be branded as a raving queen in the US. Another guy with an inflatable love doll in a closet is labled as a sex pervert. Now they're Otaku collectors. In another forty years, all these dolls and figures will be inexpensive robotics, seeking you out for companionship. I use the excuse that I can't affort a lot of the female figurines I see. But since I'm in my early fifties, subconsciously I still carry a fear that I'll be labled as a creep. You "youngsters" are going to have to learn to deal with the idea that a beautiful woman will be standing on the corner, only to discover that she's a machine. Especially in the Asian countries. This is another reason the Japanese population is declining.

    Thats a little over 7,000 bucks not including shipping and handling. I would want it shipped disguised for sure and wouldn't want no one to know I had it but now getting one would be ok. Wonder what the carrying case would be like, you know, Dollfies get a tiny coffin or violin case gotta take her to pose in the park you know dressed up in cosplay.

    For the most part so many marriages are so screwed up the woman refuses sex here all the time for long periods and costs to much to get a divorce, but also, have to keep her away from it as read last week one packed the 'doll' with broken glass.

    There are plenty of reasons to have one, but, other than photo shoots at the park, wouldn't want any one to know I had one. I'd rather have one that looked like the Life Sized PaperMoon - Saber or Rin from Fate Stay Night or any other good Anime since that would make me feel a little better IF I had one sitting in the corner while not being used. Bet it wouldn't survive a week... ;D

    It comes as no surprise that people don't want to work at a candy girl factory if they can work on one of the two others. You have to use way more force to clean a machine for jammed products when things go wrong. Imagine 20 candygirl torsos being pushed together so they jam ^^

    Personally I wouldn't work at any of those places though.

    Working at a factory. I heard that after the 1989 "event" in Russia the factories lacked money to pay their workers. In order not to stop they just gave them some of the produced goods. This went ok a lot of places but one factory ran into problems. They made "fake dolphins". For some reason the workers didn't want to cancel their payment and get a pile of fake dolphins instead. Imagine some guy going home to his wife and say "I didn't get any money so I couldn't buy any food. I did get these instead so you might want to eat those instead".... not going to work ^^;

    Actually these dolls can be potentially be quite helpful for some people having difficulty adjusting to social norms etc. There was quite a well made film about a guy who withdrew into his world after the death of his parents and only adjusted after getting himself a love doll and treating her like a real person. I'm sure there are real cases like that.
