"The future looks like its going to be amazing!" says the lady in this video clip after learning what the up n coming eroge Tech48 is about.

The game comes with some sort of webcam which detects the players movements and adjusts the view on the screen accordingly as you can see in the screenshot below.

We learn that its possible to look up girls skirts and one starts to visualize players doing all sorts of interesting stuff in front of the display. The characters also adjust their sight of vision to watch you.

You can even leave the game on with the camera pointing at the door and when you come home the girl on the game will run up to the screen and welcome you home - ideal for the ronery otaku.

The eroge maker is Teatime and they are giving away 100 webcams to folks who will help QA their software on various platforms. I'm going to see if they need a QA guy running Parallels on a Mac ^^;

Via Japanator.

Original text from zoniku below.

I saw this on Kotaku this morning (it's now on Japanator), but didn't have time to post it here since I had to go to school, but anyways, eroge game maker Teatime has developed a game called Tech48, which utilizes a special camera that uses face tracking technology that determines the angle that you're looking at. For example, if you want to look up the girl's skirt, simply get down like you'd be looking up a girl's skirt in real life & you can see her panties in the game!

So, would you buy this & what other things do you think this could be used for?? It's still in beta (they're looking for beta testers) & they'll mail 100 free cams & a trail of the game to anyone in Japan.

    Why spoil all the fun of a big unexpected gust of wind? Those 2 articles on Sankakucomplex, 1 from Korea and 1 from Japan, about angles to visualize viewing are pretty funny. All I can say is if the girls don't want any one looking then from this day forward wear Button-fly Levis Blue Jeans. There should be plenty of room to not show what no one is supposed to see. Never wash 'em in warm or hot water and careful with heat drying or they really shrink... :D

      That type of software looks like the futuristic stuff in movies we have seen for years and would require even at that level a computer and monitor all for its self. Think I will pass. The girl showing how it works did a really good job.

    Nifty technology, but it does conjure up amusing images of rabid otaku types crouching at their desks peering up at their screen to get some panstu viewage.

    Whats with the 48? Does it bear some significance in japanese culture? That and AKB48 cant be a conincidence?

    but teatime's games are usually not mid/low-spec friendly!!

    either way this is usually impossible with laptop built-in webcam because of the webcam capability. I wonder if we would need any specific webcam spec for this one, like in augmented reality technology? I think they're using the same idea, just different implementation, though... Ok, does this eroge work only with their the camera that
    is packaged with the game or can you use any available

    would ensure absolute compatibility. But if the game
    can use any webcam, then I can finally dust off that

    This has great possibilities outside of gaming. Facial recognition is just coming into its own. Combining this with any number of home apps will simply be cool. RFID your keys, and have this program running with your flat screen HDTV as the monitor, and you are steps away from a smart home. Or maybe Bluetooth and the program.
