Posted a few tidbits from the Wonder Festival earlier today and now we are first going to look at the figma's from Max Factory.
On my right is the boss of Max Factory - Max Watanabe and to my left is Asanon who you saw earlier on.

Max Factory title=

Got inside at about 9AM. The dealer passes are so much better than the press passes because one can get inside the day before or as early as one wants on the day of the event.

Max Factory title=

The Max Factory, Good Smile, Dico Kick and other related folks get together for a debrief.

Max Factory title=

In the meantime I go around snapping away before the hordes are let in. First up are these gorgeous "figma ex:ride" bicycles from Freeing.

Max Factory title=

Either GSC/MAX need to stop making cool stuff or I need a bigger house to display them.

Max Factory title=

And here are the scooters from the ex:ride series. Also included are roller blades and skateboards too which you can just make out behind the SOS dan. No pricing available as yet.

Max Factory title=

Ein from Phantom which I still have yet to see. Recommended?

Max Factory title=

Nanoha 2009 movie version.

Max Factory title=

A grinning Fate 2009 movie version.

Max Factory title=

Ryogi - this is just a reference model and not finalized for release. Interesting to see that Figma's get cloth. Do you prefer figma's as they are with plastic clothes or with cloth material?

Max Factory title=

Ugh. I'm so behind in my anime watching. Luckily I have a relative of a relative who records the shows for me. Canaan on the to-be-caught-up-on list. Love the sculpting of the trousers on this figure.

Max Factory title=

Saber in her plain clothes.

Max Factory title=

Shirou Emiya.

Max Factory title=

And a look at the girls from Max Factorys first eroge Se Kirara. This is Yu Kawamura who looks like the main character in the game. Se Kirara PV 1 below.

Max Factory title=

Aya Kagura and PV2 below.

Max Factory title=

Tsundere Mana Miyuki.

Max Factory title=

Mystery character.

Max Factory title=

Izumi Shizuno.

Max Factory title=

Nozomi Akiyama.

Max Factory title=

I was going to translate for Billy this time round too but he couldn't make the trip. For folks who have not seen it yet, you can see what happened last time back in February.

Max Factory title=

Billy Birthday version!

Max Factory title=

Kagami in Summer gear.

Max Factory title=

Tsukasa and for those who have not seen the Tsukasa Daikazoku MAD.

Max Factory title=

Original Queens Blade character designed by Rokku. This Figma comes with a gimmick called Shift Body which is like a semi-cast off.

Max Factory title=

Aigis was made to be a figma.

Max Factory title=

Watched Golgo on TV the other night for the first time. He does not say much does he? ^^; Love the CM below for Black Black chewing gum.

Max Factory title=

Have no eye deer who this is.

Max Factory title=

Some di:stage bits.

Max Factory title=

di:stage as a classroom set.

Max Factory title=

Kanamemo - another one to catch up on.

Max Factory title=

A load of rehearsals went on in the morning but no photos allowed - the management offices that manage the seiyuu are tough nuts.

Max Factory title=

Just before thousands lined up for the Good Smile/Max goodies, there was a dash which started like this...

Max Factory title=

And as for the Mirai Figma - the painted decoration master only available to see at the Tokyo Figure Show next week!

Will post more from the Wonfes but in the meantime get more from the following sites:- http://www.moeyo.com/

Definitely plastic clothes for all plastic figures. cloth fabrics when cut into that tiny shape/size just doesn't look or feel realistic. only time i think cloth works are big capes on figures like Batman.

Do mine eyes deceive me? or is that figure under Golgo 13 just happen to be one of the Joestars from Jojo's bizarre adventure?? Taking a guess (since I'm not that familiar with any part before #3) I think that would be Joseph Joestar!!!

And as for if you should watch phantom danny, just ask youself this: have you seen and enjoyed any of these shows Noir/madlax/El Cazador de la Bruja? If the answer is yes, then Phantom should be good for you (incidentally, it's based off an eroge from nitro+)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's Joseph Joestar myself. Johnathon and Joseph look very alike, but the outfit suggests it's Joseph.

...and I haven't any of those other shows, but I've been enjoying Phantom. If anyone hasn't been watching it, it's definitely worth checking out I reckon.

Wahaha~ So many nice looking figma that are being released. I'm taking a liking towards the Canaan one. The Di:Stage is looking very appealing, I might have to get one myself, i've got quite a few figma to put on display. I love the armour design on the Original QB character, the shift body sounds interesting.
The girls from Se Kirara look sooo cute, i'll have to pick up this VN/eroge when it comes out.
Such a rush to get into a line, i've seen other of Danny's videos of people rushing into a convention centre, it shows how big of a fan they are. I guess I'll have to be mentally and physically prepared before I tackle one of these.
Also Phantom Requiem is a must watch. I'm enjoying it very much to the point where it got me playing the VN. <3 Ein/Elen

    I'm actually reconsidering getting a scooter for my figma... I thought it was nifty because it reminded me of Gintama but it seems to have lost that feeling... Interesting to see how they are slightly changing the figma chests to allow the arms to bend in for better positioning of the arms for holding guns. I'd love to see a Ryougi Shiki figma but I'm not sure cloth is really the right material... or at least what I see right now isn't what I desire the final product to look like. I also prefer her usual getup with her blue yukata, red leather jacket and boots. Thats just how I am... ^^;

Phantom of Inferno was my second visual novel that I played and probably my favorite. The anime (from what little bit I saw) followed the game rather well. Can't speak past the first couple of episodes though, but recommended from what I saw.

For cloth or plastic clothes. For figmas, really I can only see them with plastic clothes. Maybe the only exception being if a character is wearing a cape/cloak or something. Then it might be appropriate.

For the new figmas, based on what I saw in an alternate figma thread, Loli Nanoha/Fate are must gets, and KOS-MOS and Ein are worth a look. Of course, I'll get a Mirai figma when she comes out though. ^^

Plastic or cloth? I prefer plastic, because cloth is more fragile and limits the way of articulations. Figmas are toys, not dolls. But in some case, like Ryogi, the legs and waist are completely wrapped in and I think it's really difficult to had articulations here without altering the look. Cloth material may be usuful in such situations, but need to stretch a lot.
I'm sure the folks at Max Factory will make the good choice.

Cloth or plastic? If for Shiki, i think cloth is quite ok especially in her Kimono.

and also, can't wait to see painted Mirai.

Aw, crap. Looks like I'm going to have to break my one-figure-per-character rule again - for Nanoha AGAIN, no less! >< It's a loli-version of her - and I want that far more than the Wolkenritter. Haven't seen the 2009 movie (is it even out?) but Raising Heart looks...quite different. Gone is the solid gold and exchanged for blue and white. I think I like it.

A lot of other amazing figma as well, but I'm going to pass. Planning to get Mirai, and *maybe* Shiki - was very tempted to get the scale figure awhile back anyway. Cloth looks nice, but I'd prefer plastic.

By the way - Saber's getting a third rendition? Interesting, that - it's her casual dress. I'm rather confused as to why Shiro's getting a figma when Archer isn't, though.

Do you know if those figma bikes and accessories will be available for purchase? Or will they be like the previous freebie if you buy a figma? Ooh I'd love to have a cloth for figma instead. It's hard to move some of their joints when the hard plastic clothing gets in the way *cough*SaberLily*cough*.

EH WHAT? What's that Kanamemo sign for?? I've been watching it and posting screenshots of it on me blog, but this is the first I heard of Kanamemo figures in the works. If they're figmas then I can make sure to make a lotta yuri scenes with them XD

So the figma no.45, 46, 47, 48 can be any of the above that will see a soon to be release.
I guess to make the kimono in flexible plastic would really be challenging but difficult to pose the lower body and may be paint transfer. Challenging to make cloth clothes too at figma scale not to mention the kimono has to wrap nicely on the Ryogi figma.
Think the Ryogi figma will be the most expensive to date and a long production run.
Needs more work on the kimono centre piece...don't know what it is called but not flat like that and the print on the cloth can be better.

nope Kenshiro normally wares open chest vest and there will be shoulder padding, that's the younger version of Joseph Joestar which can be seen in the second story arc in the JoJo Bizarre Adventure's series.

though oddly i thought they would have gone with the more popular characters of the third story arc since they can milk more money off them with characters + stand figures not to mention the third part of the series is one of my favorite :p

Phantom isn't the most unique show out there right now, but it's a potential watch if you can be patient with it. I personally find it a bit slow (It's really not as action-packed as the trailer may suggest), but there's enough character development for me to stick around for.

Canaan was probably the only anime I was really looking forward to this season. Maybe Spice and Wolf 2, but that's really about it. I have yet to test the other ones though. I also really like those scooters although they should have a yellow one like from FLCL.

Those "figma ex:ride" bicycles and scooter is another MUST get for me.

For "outdoor activities" I prefer the Figma as it is now in plastic clothes but I also don't mind to have 1 or with cloth material but this is only for the display in my cabinet.

Figma Kagami and Tsukasa in Summer Uniform is also a MUST get for me... I wonder when can we start reserve this item? I hope Max Factory will also give different accessories from previous Winter Uniform.

Figma Shirou Emiya (finally) and Figma Saber plain cloth... another 2 Figma that I want from many shown above...

Figma Ryogi? I would love to get her in both plastic clothes or cloth material.

As for other Figma above, maybe I will consider Izumi Shizuno and Yu Kawamura.

Great job GSC/Max Factory... if they keep continuing producing good stuff I might give up GunPla and focus on Figma only...

By the way Danny, when they finally released the Figma Mirai... can we the members of DC community get some special discount when buying in the selected online shop choosen by you? hahahaha.... just a crazy idea though... I guess not...

IMO I think cloth actually suit figmas pretty well since it's much more flexible and can cover up joints.

    Wonder hows that Phantom anime.
Pretty much liked the girls-with-guns animes.
Noir, Madlax and El Cazador were pretty enjoyable to me.

The summer uniform wasn't resulpted for different characters?
The skirts flow in the same pattern for both Kagami and Tsukasa.
The SOS girls all have different sculpts for their skirts.

The se Kirara girls are nicely sculpted, high quality stuff from figma as usual.

    Wants a "figma ex:kill" weapons set :P

    Will wait patiently for Mirai.

For figmas, due to their scale, plastic is better. But the cloth yukata works for Figmas (I recall Konami's Busou Shinki had cloth yukata on sale last year?), because of the way they look--very loose. I suppose it really depends on what kind of clothing you're making for the figma.

Danny, will the Mirai figma be available overseas? :(

are the ex:ride accessories going to be normal releases, or some sort of exclusive?

Plastic would probably be better for the figmas, it wouldn't restrict articulation as much as cloth, though cloth has the advantage of hiding joints. Like others have said, cloth would be better for cloaks/capes/large coats/skirts

Great stuff, but i would like it if the figma line or actsta line starts doing some video game characters too. some street fighter zero or alpha characters for example, fire emblem figures, zelda or maybe a figure of Reiji Arisu and Xiaomu from the games Namco X Capcom and SRW OG Mugen no frontier. would be great addition with the upcoming actsta KOS MOS. sigh.. one can always dream...

I think I wanna get those bikes too. Wonder how much the whole set will be...

Watching Kanamemo now. Decent slice-of-life comedy, not too great but fun to watch.

Not much of a figma/poseable figure fan as I prefer statues over them now. But ryogi shiki figma does catch my attentions.

I like the queens blade figure. Glad to see we finally have Emiya, and also we have a reason for Saber to be called Saber Armour Version, instead of just "Saber". Yay for umbrella/bamboo pole/newspaper/sushi mat thing!

No, The Vocaloids aren't wearing any protective gear! They're gonna crash and brake! Ahh!

My only problem is that a few of the faces look...odd. Mainly, the smiling figures-
    Saber
    Kagami

I don't know what planet all you are from, but Figma + Cloth = AWESOME WIN.

This brings Figma into my realm: the dollfie zone. I not only have my Yumi-tan (see avatar) but I also have lots and lots of happy shiny 1/6 scale dolls as well...Volks Dollfie Plus, Obitsu, and even stuff made by that little ole toy company from El Segundo, CA. I am guessing Figmas are about Mini BJD size. I usually like to stick to a particular scale to avoid Scale-Fail but I could go for a few chibi-chibis in my collection.

Anyone who loves Dollfies would love Figmas with real removable/replaceable/swappable clothes. Do it! For great justice!

hmm, well im stuck in the middle, i think figma might go well with cloth since it'd be able to hide all the joints, which may appeal to some, but plastic seems to fit the figure more appropriately xD

well seems like both boat floats for me ;P muahaha

Wow. Total overkill on the Figma releases. I'd be so tempted to get them all if not for the fact that I barely know most of them. Absolutely good-looking figs though. For now, I'll stick to Revoltechs.
