Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Lots involved in organizing a figure show which is taking just a wee bit longer than imagined. In the meantime, we'll use the "Tokyo Figure Show" title to go through my latest batch of figure samples.
This photo article has 82 photos which will likely cause Google Reader to balk - click through to the actual post or subscribe to updates by Email.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

First up is the lovely Haruhi Gekisou version by Max Factory.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Nicely sculpted and great colors.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Awesome details on the guitar.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

The back of her skirt reminds me of Zeong ^^;

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Check out the 3D Gekisou Haruhi below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Next up is Konjiki no Yami who you can see in action below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Another quality release from Good Smile Company.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

While I do like this figure a lot, she takes up quite a bit of space and I tend to retire the ones which require a lot of room to display.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

If you have got the spare space however, Yami is a great figure to use up that space.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Her hair and skirt are all over the gaff.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Swirls of hair and bits of the skirt are sharp so be careful when taking a closer peek at her pantsu or may your eye be poked out.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Some of these in the Wallpaper Pool.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Lovely eyes but could do with a wee bit more details around the mouth?

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Uesugi Kenshin by Freeing - check out the huge box and photos without the Mirai mark at Foo Bar Baz.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

I would display Uesugi in her b'day suit but all the armor would have gone to waste so I gave her up for adoption.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

The lovely Yoko by Gift. Yoko in action below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Lovely shitapai.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Extremely well crafted and painted.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Yoko's yoko-pai.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Initially thought her head looked a bit big from the pre-release photos.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Mikuru Gekisou version by Max Factory.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Lovely smile.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Particularly like the colors on this figure.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Very sweet indeed.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Would have been cool if the tambourine could jingle.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Orchid Seed Mabinogi Nao who we gave away in a previous giveaway. See Nao being rendered below in Photoshop.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Nicely shaped eyes.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Non-castoffable although it looks like they added all the detailing under her shorts.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Thanks to HobbyLink Japan for za sanpuru.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Feather is removable so you can stick other stuff in her hand too - just make sure you don't hurt yourself in the process.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Next up is Shining Wind Elmina from Kotobukiya.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Speaking of Kotobukiya - a tour of the studio where they sculpt all the figures coming soon.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Something I nabbed from the a meeting with Kotobukiya last week - Rogue. Still yet to open.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

I don't think I ever got round to reviewing this figure of Feena Fam Earthlight.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

By Max Factory and was released in April of 2008. She comes with a hat and waist towel too. Some of Feena in the OP below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Hoshii Miki by Max Factory and time to introduce one of my fave Idol Master MADs to date.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

This version of Miki comes with neko mimi and paws.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Adorable Nendoroid Louise - see her playing with herself below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Nendoroid Excelica. Looks like a tough game but would still like to give it a whirl. Excelica comes with the PS2 game but I only got the sample.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Some Triggerheart Excelica action below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Awesomely sweet but difficult to carry around.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Next up is the muchi muchi Tamaki Kousaka by Kotobukiya.
"Muchi muchi" [ムチムチ] refers to "having a lot of meat or fat on (something)."

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Very nice bod indeed.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Her "bra" is a tad small for my tastes but still a nice figure.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Nicely sculpted rear side.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Ideal for a wedding present.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

My fave out of this bunch - Nendoroid Rin.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Some Rin in action in the OP for the OVA below

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Love twintail Nendoroids as most of them can stand without the plastic base.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

One of my fave Figmas - the Haruhi Summer version.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Love this face!

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

To many nice figmas and too little space.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Incredibly sweet.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Some of these figma bags arrived with the last bunch O figures too.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Forgot to take photos of this for the Boys Toys article - the Tomahawk Destroid from the Macross series.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

A classic design.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Cockpit opens up.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Some vintage Macross below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Legs are well articulated.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

The "eat-my-lead" pose.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Next is Unity Mei (May) from Good Smile.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

You can fine Mei in action in the eroge Unity Marriage.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

You may remember seeing this figure during the production stages from when I was on CNN below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Those gold pipes kinda remind me of Aliens...

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

The cloak and hat are removable. The yellow bits covering her eyes are removable too but her pupils are not painted on.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Next is Kanu Uncho by Griffon - see her in action VS Sonsaku below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Kanu comes with a pair of pantsu that you stick halfway down her legs which I thought looked rather odd.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Nopan desu.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

The huge 1/7 scale Signum by Alter - watch her unleashing a load of weaponry below.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Lovely figure but maybe difficult to display as her sword gets in the way and covers her face.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

The sword can be placed in her hand facing down but looks a wee bit odd.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Nice eyes.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

If you are going to look at her from the side or above then you will be able to see her face but not from the front.
Get Signum from HobbyLink Japan for 8,800 yen.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Next up is Elwing from Shining Wind - available from HobbyLink Japan for 5,800 yen.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Interesting how once upon a time I didn't like pointy ears but now think they are fine - especially the pointy ears on Tiffania. We need a decent Tiffania figure now.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

A few unopened goodies - Makina Hoshimura from Shikabane Hime. The anime looks really good - tis recommended?

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Good Smile Horo. Wasnt a huge fan.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

Nankyoku Sakura from Penguin Musume - another show which I never got round to watching. I do remember meeting the voice actress at Good Smile one day - she was saying how Sakura has really big oppai.

Tokyo Figure Show 2 title=

And this was some of the latest arrivals.

i love the Gekisou but after getting Mikuru, it seems that she kinda pales in comparison. Yuki's expression is too cool but guess it's in chara too, but it'll prolly look better when all three are displayed together.

love most of the stuff up there but sadly, can't afford them all, not with the wedding coming. >_<

If Dollar will go up doesn't that mean Pounds , Yen , Ringgit Malaysia , and all the other currencies will go down also .

Since Yen is now the current highest currency in the world , I don't think Dollar will go up for a loooong time .

Ringgit Malaysia is going up steadily which is Happy to Malaysians ^_^

Very nice group of figures once again! All of them look great, especially the Alter Signum and figmas and Nendos, but I think my favorite of the bunch is the Summer Haruhi ^^ As seen on my desk post, she has a permanent post with digicam on top of my CRT with her ponytail head =D I was thinking about picking up Makina also, but have never seen Shikabane-hime either, and prefer melee weapons over ranged, with bows being an exception ;) figma Signum is going to be so awesome XD

One of the many things about the Haruhi Gekisou figure is that it definitely sets a high bar for the inevitable K-On figures. Of course, that mark will be decimated when we get a teeth picking variant of Yui.

Well, to be honest, my favourite out of the bunch would be Nendoroid Rin. I can't say that I'm really excited by any of the other characters.

Will be getting the Figma version of Signum instead and not really interested in the Gekisou figures as I've been getting Alter's recent renditions of the Haruhi girls.

Favorites of this bunch are Gift Yoko and Haruhi Gekisou, which I too received earlier this week with Mikuru Gekisou. I love the Yoko figure a bit more because of the size and the details are very very nice on that one. Mikuru is all about that face, she looks lovely in that dress but Haruhi takes my vote first so yea.

I really liked that Tamaki and waiting for my Kotobukiya's Rogue as well ^^. That Tamaki I find rather interesting, but maybe waiting on the Black Bikini version, wich I think looks a bit smexier /drool.

with all the SAFS, people might soon mistaken your house for a figure store.

anyway has certainly been a long time since i last saw the Mirai mark. ('~')

as the others mentioned, there's no rogue in the poll. i will definitely vote for her! can't wait for mine to arrive.

lastly, figma haruhi in summer clothes. i got the green bag though i would have preferred the blue one. and good thing i looked at this article with the picture of the bag. i realise the removable bag handle on mine is missing and quickly went to the waste basket and found it inside the little black plastic bag. if not i would have lost it forever.

Can't wait to see the rocker Yuki get reviewed. Shikabane Hime did look good but I think I was only attracted to the concept of a girl wielding akimbo Mac10s. After the first episode, it failed to leave an impression on me... I might get around to watching it again though.

I actually just got back from Japan. It was my first time and it was wonderful. (That's what she said.) I hauled back tons of manga (read: Ero mangas) and lots of figures. Like...10, and another 3 preordered.

I saw many of these figures in person and contrary to what you guys see here, the Gekisou Haruhi was slightly underwhelming, not as vibrant in person. However, the Mikuru one was...brilliant. Now this means a lot, coming from me, as I usually hate everything and ANYTHING Mikuru. Starting with the voice all the way to her manner of dress. The Gekisou Mikuru was beautiful and I really wanted to purchase it. Too bad the one I saw was already on hold for another customer. Actually the reason I joined DannyChoo was so I could chronicle my trip to Japan and hopefully help others that are trying to find their way to the land of the rising sun. When my probationary period is over, I'll post my stuff. =]

YEAH! I stopped into my local Anime store, And they had a box full of Figma and Fraulien Revoltech figures that didn't arrive in time for Anime North. They hadn't been priced into the system yet, but I got reserved a Haruhi Summer ver. Figma, and Revoltech Yuki (with hat/cape) and Maido Mikuru. Should be able to pick them up tomorrow or Sunday. Sorry the only one I liked was Elwing. I need to get a new seena as the one I got was the diamond comics version which I think resembles a lot like the bootleg stories of shiny finish which I really detest now as I cannot take a good look at her face at all.

I have the Haruhi and Mikuru Gekisou figurines myself. I also have the Feena figurine shown above. While this last one is very nicely done, the details on the Haruhi Gekisou figurine are so well done that it has become my favorite figurine.

Excelica nendoroid is cute, but the game looks insanely difficult

Great to finally see the rogue out, I"m so pumped for black widow and especially black cat. After seeing close ups on the Yoko as well, I was super tempted to buy it. Originally I had picked the GK of her that was reversible (You can put her on her butt of her head shooting).

    Thank you for the images!
