Queens' Blade EP 1
Just watched the first EP of the new anime series of Queens Blade - approved!
The QB girls are sweet and animation above average. Has loads of oppai everywhere which are not only well drawn but well animated too ^^; Story was good enough to keep me watching and will continue to do so.
My fave so far is Leina - who used to have long hair which suited her a lot. My other fave was Nanael who's also really cute - she floats in the air and flutters her wings only from time to time which is kawaii - voiced by Aya Hirano. No sign of Airi or Tomoe yet.

Ugh - this is my personal opinion so excuse my negativity, but this is exactly the reason why i am going off anime and otaku culture very quickly.
Its just cheaply made and an excuse to put as many tits and asses in as possible. No substance, no appeal - just boobs. Ikkitousen is another main offender. Ive found way too much anime these days has an obsession with cute girls, boobs and fan service and i feel that anime has gone from a mature art form to a teenage LOLROFLing boob-fest.

I agree on you there although I tend to give most anime a go If it doesn't hold my attention long enough I just let it go. Ikkitousen initially held my attention till things got confusing with the magatamas and past lives stuff popped out and it kinda lost me there :p. Although in defense of Queen's Blade the books were originally fanservice material fighting books game so it's a given there should be that level of fan-service here. ^_^

There are some great anime still being released, but I agree that most of them are just shallow fanservice. I took one look at the trailer for this one, and heard my classmate's impressions of the first episode, and it was obvious I wouldn't get on with it. I really like action/fantasy shows, but I like the plot to take preference over the fanservice, and this one looks like the opposite.

I haven't watched a raw episode since the debut of Sonic X. If it's popular, if it's any good, or even if it's Sonic X, it'll get subs sooner or later. Not that I'm not curious enough to give this one a look.

Looks like its a must watch. There are a lot of heavy fan service shows, some mentioned above, which were unwatchable after like show 3 since there wasn't any story to it just visual (wishing) sex aid. The artist work for graphics reminds me right away of the My-Hime series. Haven't looked up who is doing it so just a guess.

Now that was really something. The series will be a big hit in the figurine market IF the story writers can get people to love every character. Show 1 for example has like at least 4 figurines per character that could be made. Two for each in costumes and changes and 2 more for moving in action scene. Hopefully each of the figurines would come with a cape or cloak that those of us who can't display fully visible characters can have.

As for watching unsubbed then subbed, I only do that when the fansubbers take a week or more subbing each episode, and I'm really looking forward to the next episode.

Watched the raw episode and enjoyed it. Must confess I'm not too keen either on the abundance of nudity and other explicit scenes.
The animation seemed ok so I'm not sure why they chose to make it so explicit, think it ciould be just as good without resulting to such means. An action, fighting series like this with such sensual warrior maidens could very enticing without having to show that much bare skin but rather use suggestion and well animated battle scenes.
Still, really enjoyed this first episode, had a ton of good seiyuu in it and think I'll adore Reina, she was really cute.

well, quite agreed with what deva's said there. I'm also following randomc anime blogging and I should say that they're doing great job for some titles. But for this I should say that they're killing it off from the beginning, I'll be following this one along with your blogging ^^ and we'll see if how far this one will go since I'm not quite fond into heavy fanservice (I mean if you want boobs and ass or some pu**y why dont just go into a fully fledged hentai ^^;)

Did adore Random Curiosity's review of it, was funny actually very true what they wrote. Just two totally different types of reviews.
But I must confess I'm also curious to see where "Queen's Blade" will head to... it could turn into a disaster like say "Ikki Tousen". Though in this case, the first episode of "Queen's Blade" had great animation so hopefully that sticks. Now I hope they use more subtle ways for the fanservice bit. You can have plenty of fanservice and remain tasteful, without being explicit.

I just watched it and man it makes regular fan service animes look like kiddie shows!! So far Risty/Listy is my favorite followed by Leina. Animation was very very very good (boobs!) and story was good enough for me to keep following it.
Usually I wait for the sub but since I've gotten better at understanding Japanese I watch the unsubbed version sometimes. I'm pretty sure I understood about 80% of the things in episode 1.

Right, I watched two shows today. K-ON! and Queens Blade. Let's just say that Queens Blade was whatever K-ON! was.
I'm going to rant here and sound out of character, but this show deserves it.
Ok, where to begin,
Am I the only one who see this catastrophe for what it is??? Oh my god... There was no plot, the characters weren't well established and was just unwatchable.
The only good point about this show was the nudity. I have to say, for all the times I complained about censorship, I couldn't give a **** about this. Sure there were a number of fetishes, Lactation, Wetting, Inflation and Bondage. Seriously though, if I wanted to see some naked girls/fetishes, I have a thousand other avenues to do so.
In conclusion, I can't see why everyone is so hyped up about this. It's only saving grace wasn't even worth the effort of sitting through the 24 minutes of mind-numbingly bad garbage.
I'm sorry. I really, really wanted to like this show and its characters due to the fact that the figures looked awesome and it was so hyped up, but, wow...

While I respect your opinion, but may be we didn't read the same memo? I watched it knowing fully it's made of fan service, oppai and nudity. From a story setting stand point, it's probably not as well defined as Ikki Tousen, or even full blown eroge, but I kinda knew that from the get go.

Queens blade cant be classified as a fan service show, neither is it an ero nor hentai, with such outright nudity, its no longer a service but a norm for this show.
Anyway its tough for QB to pull through cos of its too disparate chrs designs, the lack of uniformity will be a problem sooner or later even if given its fantasy settings.
But as of ep1, the major drawback is the lack of action sequence, for a fantasy fighting anime, u need good action scenes, not stills and mere poses no matter how well drawn they are.
