I would prefer an individual figure review than a bunch.

Kino no Tabi is a slow-pace anime but packed with good story & action, would recommend if you got nothing in your To-Watch list, there are just way too many anime to catch up.

I'll be waiting eagerly for the great news ^_^

Toradora es a big crap but it becomes better when you see some ep. Myabe you should give it a try.

Hmmm interesting a figures collector's display, me and a bunch of other collectors been doing that since last year but we display at anime events organize by local anime clubs instead of our own though. Would really like to be able to organize our own figure event in the future ^^.

Nice figures, still planning on getting that Tamaki, Manami, and Chu Chu figure eventually. Really considering getting A Cross of Venus just for those nendoroids ^^;

I don't think they are doing a Manabi Straight season 2 even if the show was really good ;;

I think single figure reviews are better but I can see how this would save you time since you get so many Suddenly Acquired Figures. Although as long as you take plenty of pictures, like you did with these, I wouldn't mind. ^^

The figure show also sounds like a really neat idea, although I fear that no matter how cheap the travel packages are I don't think I'd easily be able to go. I'll just have to make due plenty of pictures from you and everyone else that attends. Hope to hear more about it as you get all the details planned out in the future.

Fave out of the bunch is Chua Churam and Nanako... scrumptious.

Really like the Makoto figure cos its the same as the OP scene! Yet, old release, and no stock anywhere now. (not including online retailers)
Same goes to Manabi, but that pose wasn't in the OP.

Yummy Tamaki is yummy. I never played ToHeart, never watched either, but I know I definitely have to do so, one day. Just look at the characters! :3

The four Nendo Puchi... I love em. Especially Index, and Taiga. Shana too - but shes got loads other figures. Didn't like the Taiga earlier from GSC, but really liking this puchi one. Index on the other hand.. Too cute to resist ^^ Kino no Tabi.. I dun even know the show. o.o Too bad these are all exclusives. Sigh.

Great figures. Very colorful. Me favorite is definitely the nendoroid 4-packs. <3 nendoroids. And Danny... you dropped Toradora after ep1 only? You need to keep watching ^^. It's a great anime! Taiga also becomes less tsuntsun and more deredere :)

Will snap at a chance to attend the event, especially if something with a travel agency could be arranged! Looking forward to more developments! I've only been to Japan once (last October) and itching to do so again, during the cooler seasons. ^-^

I usually go in spring time to Japan. This year from April 26th till May 13th. It is usually always around this period. But since you're going to do it this year, it would be lovely if it were during this period, but I can understand that's quite on short notice... ^^

Man these are some very nice figures, but I have to say I like the chua churam figure the most. Reason being that I really like the details that are on this figure.

I liked Kos-Mos the most despite not having seen or played xenosaga. Just a great figure I guess.

Great idea for a figure show by the way. I've been planning a trip in November for about one month(depending on the exchange rate). Too late to book for spring and it would be nice to enjoy the milder weather rather than the unbearably hot November over here.

Yup, I also prefer 1 figure per review; KOS-MOS is my favourite out of the girls - Tough choice between Chua Churam and her!

The figure show idea sounds awesome, I'd definitely love to go.

Straight from build quality and design, I have to say Chua Churam is a better figure than Kos-mos even though I have been a kos-mos fan for much longer. When I worked on the Hiyori story and played chu x chu idol, I think I have grow to like Chua Churam as well and have already ordered her yesterday from one of the shops that still has her ;x

Of the figures presented above Makoto is my favourite with the Chu Chu Idol girl being close second.

Like other commenters said before you should give Toradora! another chance. It's really good later on. It is one of the few harem shows with a decent story.

Taiga's character is like Shana x 2 in pretty much every aspect except magic skills (and body height). Later in the show there are a few scenes showing her very sweet side. In my opinion Toradora! is the best show this winter.

So many at one go...and now i really have to find the cross of Venus set...

So many good figures to chose from. And I'm still behind on older ones I could never afford. Still need me a Konata figma.

BTW, Danny, does Goodsmile sell individual figma parts at all? I'm still looking to replace the arm on my Haruhi that came snapped last year when I bought it at ACEN.

So many yummy figures, I really loved Kos-Mos. I wasn't sure if I should get her when I saw a few pictures a few moons ago but now I really must get her... along with AUU~ Makoto. As for you question, I prefer single figure review.

How much have u spent roughly??...for all of this figures??...I came from Malaysia...and it's kinda expensive...but i do understand why though...

I don't get the logic with opening fig boxes from the bottom. Wouldn't it be harder to force the interlaced cardboard open?

I wish economy gets better so I maybe able to get some of these figures in the future, Kos-Mos seems particularly nice but Chu-Chu as well x_x

Danny, if you managed to get past episode 2, you will realize Toradora is not the sort of "violent tsundere" show that you expected it to be. In fact, I dare say it's on par with most of the good live-action romance dorama out there (and pay no attention to the shallow shippers who would declare Toradora crap because "their girl lost" near the end).

For the three JC Staff shows that Kugimiya has starred in, I would rate them as follows:

Toradora >>>>>>>>>> Shana >>>>>>>>>> many light years >>>>>>>>>> Zero no Tsukaima

I agree with many of our comrades here: Toradora is a great show. Was turned off by Taiga too in the beginning, but the story got better very quickly after that. And of course there's the ultra-genki moesome Minorin ^^

Also, Danny, Toradora is an awesome show, ranked as one of the highest in the states and prolly around the globe. You should give it another try. Although I'll warn you have the comedy/romance starts to turn into just romance at around EP 15 or so. But you should deffinatly give Taiga Aisaka another shot. Shes such a cute angry ball of attitude.

Large review like this is fine imo, especially then when you are busy: you save time but still the readers get to see the figures and have to opportunity to spot some great figure they didn't know about.

First was the best because the clothing was really nice. If it's too simple, the price tag makes it seem not worth it. If the clothing is really well done it is.

Nice photos of amazing figures! My personal fave in the lot is Tamaki, seems Griffon's figures have indeed gotten quite a bit better than before.

Not too fond of that Kos-Mos bikini figure, my favourite figure of Kos-Mos still remains the original Xenosaga I version by Alter. ^^

Danny - you are amazing. You start off typing the article, come up with an idea midway, and by the time you're at the end things are already in motion. It says a lot about your go-getter personality and your connections, as much if not more than your inspirational articles do.

Won't be able to come this year no matter what, but do like the idea. Very much so. And if you can get cheaper airfare it'd be an amazing way to reach out to international figure fans for the first time. I'd guess that many never make the jump to actually go to Japan, partly due to price and partly due to being alone in a foreign country. To actually organize an event where all the gaijin are actually invited on purpose...would be quite a breakthrough.

Besides, it's not like they'd just show up to your show. They'd show at your show, then go invade Akiba. Figure manufacturers can't lose.

Chroche is my favourite. Definitely. But you already know why I have a deep emotional connection to that particular figure (first purchase). I love the Ar Tonelico 2 opening too - I only have the first game and haven't gotten around to playing it, but anything that's based around singing and epic music and cute girls can't be bad. ;)

Chua Churam is one of the figures that made me want to start collecting. Though I never snagged her in time?

Found it on Amazon.co.jp (the game w/ the figure set) but they don't ship outside JP @.@ why!! why!!!!

Nanako Sakura, Kos-Mos, and Mikuru are my favorites. They're so tempting to buy (picks up the wallet and then puts it down)...

The more I keep reading these reviews the sooner I'm going to start buying. I've been bit by the figure-bug.

As for the reviews, it's nicer to have a few more shots of each figure, but as was stated earlier, the benefit of being able to find old reviews by figure name would just be easier if they were done solo.

My favorite has to be Chua Churam!! ^_^ Got it her back from TokyoToys when I happened to be in London last October. I had preorder her last time from HLJ..but at that time I had to cancel it since I had leave to UK..I was shocked to see it here..and I instantly bought it without hesitation.

The embarrassing part was the shop didn't have any plastic bag for it at that moment (consider it's box size) and all they gave me was that big black plastic bag (for rubbish). I was like "what the..?" So I had to put in my backpack...luckily it fit <_<;

Apart from that, there are other figures which I like from this review...but my wallet is currently dry..so I rest my case here...

Just want to put in another good word for Toradora. It's head and shoulders above just about every other show running out there. High school romance comedy, brilliantly executed. It's finishing soon, and I'm sad. It got better and better ...

I like the Kos Mos Swimsuit figurine very much need to buy it soon.

I'm wishing that Max Factory would make PVCs for Trusty Bell (Eternal Sonata). So far, there are three characters from that series I would buy PVCs of.

But until then... I guess the one I would choose to buy would be Chroche (Ar tonelico II). Simply because it looks like a great, non-mainstream RPG, and was made by Max Factory.

Then again... The series does mark the lack of luck I had when it came to my timing with good PS2 RPGs. XP

I like KOS-MOS. Played all three Xenosaga games and enjoyed them. Part 2 was meh, but 1 and 3 were solid. Wish they would continue the series, but there's little hope left of that.

The hosting of a figure event for international people sounds like a great idea. Perhaps you can tie it in with a tour through the figure companies that you talked about and you'd definately get a lot of attendees.

I'd definately love to attend. I'm planning a trip to Japan, but haven't booked yet. Will be watching closely to find out more details about this event.

I already have that Mikuru figure for a while now, the finish is just stunning I'd recommend it to anyone.

Chua Churam and Chroche are so pretty! I did my research on Ar Tonelico 2 and the music is amazing. And Chua Churam's frills, lolita-esque design, multi-coloured eyes and vampire teeth are all things I love. I can't find this figure anywhere though ^^;

Chua Churam shoud have been mine but, sadly for me, she's not ¬¬.
Anyway, my favorite one of these figurines is Sawatari Makoto because I love too much this character of Kanon and in second place I would put the mentioned before Chua Churam.

I feel like I should have preordered that Chua Churam figure when I had the chance. Seeing more of the figure makes me want to get ahold of it more so. I would say the same of the mikuru chan but I have two figures of her so getting a third one ranks a bit lower on my priority list.

The Chua Churam is a sweet figure, Lots of little details on this figure make it an incredible figure.
The only thing I find Challaning about this figure is cleaning it when it gets dusty, It takes me some time to clean it with a standard cloth. ^_^
