BJD

Thanks to doll seamstress Chun, Aoi-chan is feeling a bit warmer with her new wardrobe.
Before I forget, BJD is an abbreviation for Ball Jointed Doll or "Kyu Tai Kansetsu Ningyo" [球体関節人形] in Japanese.
Watch the Johnathan Ross Japanorama spot on Dollfies below.

First up we take a look at this gorgeous purple sweater. I sent Chun some pics of idols in baggy sweaters which have a wide neck showing a mass of oppai...

...and just a couple of weeks later, the goods arrived just as ordered! "On Time and To Spec" as we used to always say at Amazon.

Also asked Chun to make Aoi-chan some loose socks which I still think look great. Shame that not many girls wear them anymore.
Just discovered that there was a Japanese drama called "Loose Socks Detective."

The skirt, shoes and Katana were samples from HLJ. The next weapon I want is this machine gun from the Volks store.

I notice the obligatory "Yummy Ball Joints" comments whenever I post Dollfie stuff of late - just cover them up with clothes!

Think I've mentioned it before but I wasn't a huge fan of ball joints until I discovered Figmas. And even when the figmas first came out, I wasn't keen on their joints either - until I was given a bunch to play with.

Still love scale figures but being able to fidget around with poseable figures or dolls is more fun. Speaking of fun - the next Figma Theater will be a grand battle between samurai Figmas and Dollfies.

Still haven't had time to do up the ribbon on the katana properly.

Mmmmm. Kawaii.

A few of these in the Wallpaper Pool.

When swords don't reach far enough its time to use lead.

The hair clip is from Chun too but have not used it in Aoi-chans up until now as I'm afraid of damaging the hair - safe to leave there?

Even though I get my Dollfies for free, don't want to be going overboard and said to myself that I'll stick to two - for now ^^;
But having said that, the Haruhi Dollfie is quite a cutie - can be seen in the stop motion hare hare yukai vid below.

Love this shot.

The thing about Dollfies is that you naturally want to start getting clothes and accessories for them - but then you end up with a load of nice clothes being stashed away which can be only remedied by getting more Dollfies to wear them ^^;

Aoi keeps her bottom warm by sitting on the hot PowerBook. What is it with macs and heat?

Macs n Dolls - good combo.

And just like what real 3D Japanese school girls do - you can roll up the skirt. Have a look at how girls in Kyoto roll their skirts up - the shortest in Japan.

Saber tries on some of the new gear too.

Hmmm. I'm sure it wasn't that cold when I took these pics...

Kawaiiiii!

Whoops - accidentally snapped when Saber was changing - sorry.

Chun sent three sweaters over including this hand knitted fuwa fuwa version.

Just gorgeous!

This one too.

And Aoi-chan tries out the fuwa fuwa sweater too.

Was going to have Aoi wearing the purple sweater for a while but think I like this one more. I guess I could have Saber wearing fuawa fuwa and Aoi wearing the purple one but that means I need another Dollfie to wear Mirai-chans uniform! *Picks up phone to call sponsor*

Aoi-chan does a happy dance.

Aoi-chans current station. Need to look for some saddle stands too but only seen them at shows - will pick them up at the next Doll Show 25 on April 26th. Nothing is stopping me from going this time!

Too cute.

An earlier look at Aoi-chans new L bust. She had to look after Sabers bust for a while but told me that she preferred bigger ones. Got this from the Volks store for about 3,990 yen.

Aoi-chan used to sit here for a while.

Having a lovely pair of eyes is a waste when there are no pupils.
By default, they don't come painted on. Some folks use chalk or pastel and then finish off by spraying some top coat on the top. Have a look at the following links for some examples:-

While I can paint Gundams (Yes Wing Gundam still needs attention) painting pupils is another ball game - ball game - get it ^^;
Decided to use a florescent pink marker...

What I did was to draw on the pupils and then smudge them with tissue paper - repeat the process twice. The eye on the left has been smudged already and the one on the right waiting to dry.
Dollfie owners - do you paint em or leave em blank?

A comparison with the original Saber M bust - which do you prefer? ^^;

And the instructions from Chun - so cute! I was actually able to get the sweaters on without removing the arms.
If you are looking for some Dollfie clothes then you do good to contact Chun as she provides excellent made to order goods. She sent this latest batch on her Friday afternoon in Canada and arrived at my doorstep Wednesday afternoon.
For folks who don't know, she also made the Mirai Dollfie clothes for me too.

The gorgeous packaging.

Folks who order stuff from the Volks store can opt in to get a monthly Volks magazine "Volks News" sent to you. When ordering stuff, be sure to check the box opting in or they wont send it. Not sure if they send it overseas but I think there was an option to display the order form in English - meaning that they may send it to folks outside Japan.

A lookie inside - The up n coming Dollfie Dream Nanoha.

Loads of Super Dollfie stuff too - me much prefer the DD line.

New Dollfie Dream clothes.

Want this wig for Aoi-chan. Cute bikini too but its only for the M bust.

Dollfie boots costing up to 6,900 yen - the same cost of human sized boots!

And the last few pages have Volks mecha stuff.

If you order stuff from the Volks store (online or offline), you get a members card to save up points. I think I've got about 3,000 yen worth of points to use on my next purchase now.

Probably have space for one more Dollfie standing next to Aoi but want to keep focused on these two instead...
