7pm in Tokyo - Katsu Bento

Another evening without much time to cook or eat outside - Katsu Bento to the rescue.
This bento comes with a mix of pork, beef and prawn deep fried in breadcrumbs.

But no matter how busy I am, I never skip brekkie, lunch or dinner - because doing so gives me the runs. Many Japanese folks I know tend to skip breakfast though.

That sounds bad. Passing out is really bad. However the combo where somebody passes out AND get the runs sounds even worse.

I highly recommend eating enough since passing out can be really unhealthy. Specially if you stand up because normally when a person falls, they try to avoid injury. If the person is passed out, then there aren't any preventive moves, making the fall much more dangerous.

Yum! Makes me wish the same thing was readily avaliable here; at least, as a cheap lunch option, instead of a pricey selection in a Japanese restaurant. I'm not a huge fan of pork, but I have a weakness for oyakodon! =w= Love the rice/fish/veggies/chicken etc you see in Japanese food. Guess I'm a bad Albertan since I'd rather eat that instead of beef, haha xD

What's the orange-cube-thingy in the bottom right corner, if you don't mind me asking? The colour makes me think egg, but then it looks too small for that.

It's quite important to eat enough. People go low on sugar and other stuff in the blood if they don't eat enough and that's not only unhealthy, but also counter productive. The mind isn't as sharp and it's even more dangerous to operate machinery or vehicles. Makes me wonder how many people in traffic accidents are low on food. I guess nobody counted that, but it would be interesting to know. Just like it's good to know that the human body wants to sleep at 4 to 4.30 AM even if you don't want to because say you drive a car. This is actually one of the most dangerous times to drive if you look at the number of accidents and compare it to the number of cars on the roads.

As for eating I get really ill if I don't eat. Usually it's a headache, but it can also hurt my stomack and I can even end up vomiting (that's rare though, maybe because I eat before that happens). Typically I eat a little when I wake up because my stomack isn't awake yet. If I eat too much while my stomack is still asleep I end up vomiting. This is not enough so I eat again at around 10 O'clock and have lunch at 12-13. Depending on my workload (yes, I get more hungry if I work hard), I eat again at 4. I eat dinner at 8 and usually something at 11 too before going to bed. I'm not fanatic about healthy food but I usually avoid snacks and stuff so I'm not fat even though I can end up eating a lot doing a day.

The tip of the day: The key to avoid being fat isn't not to eat, but it is in fact to eat. You have to eat lots of real food that contains little or no fat from animals while getting what you need. If you eat enough of the good stuff then it's easier to avoid the snacks. It's also way cheaper this way ^^

I'm perfectly fine whenever I skip meals. I've never had a problem skipping breakfast whenever I woke up REALLY late or something.

But, I know it's unhealthy. These days, I make a point of eating breakfast every day. If I am about to be late for school or work, I still just grab a bagel and throw it in the toaster for a minute. You can eat on the way.

Looks good. Too bad I can't find a place around here that does that. We have Japanese food restaurants but the entrees are sort of big so its not ideal if you are on the run. You know, maybe I should try taking a picture of the food I eat everyday, one for everyday of the year, kind of like what you did Danny.

I used to skip breakfast because it would give me an upset stomach and the runs as well but I made up for it later. It would bother me because I was never a morning person and as such my stomach would become extremely unhappy if I disturbed its sleep and let me know in the worst ways. Over the last 2.5 years I have been working a job that requires me to go into work at 3am and I have had no choice but to eat on my way in because the work environment I am in is kept at a cool -30F/-34.4C and I need as much energy as I can get prior to going into that environment to handle the cold plus the physical demands of my job. During the work day I eat a total of five meals, 1 prior to work, 3 at work, and one after work. In a normal work day I burn through about 5k calories which is pretty close to what Alaskan fishermen go through in a given day.

Skipping meals is bad for me--I turn snarky, depressive, and sleepy. Not good. It's doubly bad for breakfast; I'm one of those people who wakes up hungry.

By the way, your food photos always make me hungry. Great. Now I have to go see if my chicken's defrosted.
