Mirai Suenaga
Profile page renewal done and next up is the mascot page. Quite a few pictures in this post so lemme know if you had trouble downloading.
I've always wanted to have a cute mascot for the site and when I met manga artist Azami Yuko through some work at Microsoft, I knew it was time to create one.
The designs for Mirai Suenaga [末永みらい] were finalized in January of 2007. Azami sensei and I worked closely together on Mirai's design and am really pleased by the way she turned out.
Mirai is an eternal 17 years old. Mirai is not what she seems. To the average Jon Doe, shes just an average school girl but what the viewer knows is that shes actually from a different time and dimension. Mirai came to Earth in the year 2009 from her home planet called Sorunia which exists in a fissure of time and space...
Mirai-chan stared in a game published by Nitro Plus called Miracle Mirai. You can read more about the game here.
Mirai-chan stars in her own anime called Mirai no Mirai. Below are the anime storyboards and you can read more about this project in this post.
End of a school day and Mirai says goodbye to Kanata. Mirai gets changed into her Meisai Gear suits. She hasn't figured out the transformation sequence so wears her suit manually.

Apron Mirai-chan by Ayu is a particular fave of mine ^^;
Mirai has a younger sister but we didn't get to see what she looked like until June 2008. Haruka Suenaga [末永遥香] is 13 years old and was originally name "Kako" - you can read more about Haruka in this article.
The original concept artwork for Haruka-chan is handled by Azami Yuko.

Kanata Hoshikawa [星河かなた] is the third mascot character for dannychoo.com and is conceived by Ayu. Fell in love with Ayu's work when she posted a fanart cosplay of Mirai and Haruka.

The most cutesome 4-koma series "Mirai-tan" is handled by illustrator Kyourin from the Philippines who currently resides in Japan. You can view all episodes to date at figure.fm.

Great mascot page, hope to see updates on it as they happen, I'd love to follow what the sisters get up to.
This is probably my first time hearing of Mirai being in a Nitro + game, I love the frilly dress version of her in the floating Mirai section.
With a figma being rolled out, i'm not suprised that an animated series and a manga is also coming out soon after. I adore the concept sketches too!

I donno I might be the oddball here, but none of those mascot characters spike an interest in me. They seem typical and cliche. I say this strictly by looking at the characters, without knowing about their personalities, which is a huge factor for me.
I do like the Mirai-tan 4-koma series though.
