Late hijack desu. Very much looking forward to seeing this life size Gundam thats going to be built in Odaiba round the corner.
Apart from the head being able to move up/down/side to side, there will be devices all over the body that will let of some steam as illustrated in the image - Gundam fart?

Japan has finally done it. They've built an actual life-size RX-78-2 Gundam (from the very 1st Gundam anime series) as part of Gundam's 30th Anniversary. It's 59 feet tall, built with fiberglass-reinforced plastic over steel, & the head will be able to move. Japanator has more info in their post. It'll be finished in July & be up for 2 months before being taken down. Seeing it will be free of charge.

Obviously, this is an otaku's dream come true. Pretty sure this makes you guys excited, doesn't it? Makes me hope they'll do something like this for Evangelion someday...

id actually love to make an underground base near my house. then id love to steal that when its done, and do some fixing on that thing so its fully movable. then i cud lik go around in it and other sttuff gundam pilots do lol.

This is working, they say that they are going to tear it down, but in actuality there is a top secret organization that will recruit pilots to use the gundam as an Ultimate weapon. They just say that they are going to tear it down so they won't scare the citizens of Japan.

  I think it was a pretty obvious choice... I went to the Kami-Igusa station to see the bronze statue of an RX-78 Gundam and it was a pretty nice sight. But I can't wait to see this. Nothing in the world can compare to this... well, maybe, but still COME ON!!! Nippon banzai!!

japanese once built a walker,yeah a walker like ones in mechwarrior but only stand 2 meter high and only walk without hand,how about perfecting it and add a mechanical hand?maybe it would be like Ripley's in Alien,but yeah we could make it bigger,and using a fuel cell, and yes make a big machine gun too hahahahaha
