Figure Life title=

Today we talk about life with figures and take a lookie at my latest bunch O SAFS.
And if you are wondering about the Asakura Bunny - catch her at the Good Smile Blog ^^;

Figure Life title=

For all the figures that I want to keep, I throw out the boxes which is why when I need to store them away for some reason, I stick em in plastic bags.

Figure Life title=

The reason why I'm bagging them up is because its that time of year when we smoke the house to get rid of any bugs lurking around.
The products is Asureddo - stick it in the middle of a room, add water and vacate the area. Just as you can see from the CM below, bug killing smoke then emits from the Asureddo can.

Are there products like this in your region?

Figure Life title=

These are the plastic sealable bags I got from Tokyu Hands. Also great for just keeping stuff in general order.

Figure Life title=

Rather happy to be working with Good Smile and Max Factory as I love the quality of their figures. The quality of the Queens Blade/Gate figures are pretty awesome too.

Figure Life title=

Half way through vacating the girls to the car. Even though I need to dust down the girls more often, I still prefer having them out on display rather than looking at them through glass. Where do you keep/display your figures?

Figure Life title=

After smoking out the house, I take some time out to perform maintenance on the girls.

Figure Life title=

Nanoha has some paint transferred onto her leg from somewhere - this happens a lot.

Figure Life title=

I use some thinner that I use for my Gundams to remove the offensive mark - use a cotton bud and don't rub too hard - the girls don't like it and you end up removing some of the original paint too.

Figure Life title=

More Nendoroid Puchi Shana at Danny's Corner.

Figure Life title=

Another Kemeko as I want to pose it with MM and another Hiiragi sister pair.

Figure Life title=

I seem not only to be acquiring Figures but mouse pads too - my new oshiri (bottom) mouse pad of Sakura Nankyoku from Penguin Musume.

Figure Life title=

Thought it would be healty for the wrists but ended up being unproductive because I kept grabbing her bottom instead of the mouse.

Figure Life title=

Lulu demonstrates how big her bottom is.

Figure Life title=

Lulu does not want to move from his position.

Figure Life title=

Ryu and Teiran from the SFO Revoltech series - these should be out sometime next month.

Figure Life title=

Looks like Ryu will be a new cast member to the Figma Theater.

Figure Life title=

Hoshii Miki by Max Factory - shes really cute!
My fave Aimasu MAD below featuring her doing Kylie Minogue.

Figure Life title=

Freeing Emiri bunny - higher res pics at Good Smile.

Figure Life title=

Mitsuki Hayase gathers with some of the other bikini girls - more pics of her at Good Smile.

Figure Life title=

Max Factory Taiga Aisaka - tooo cute!

Figure Life title=

Mitsuki Sawatari from "He is my Master" - Maker is Toypla.

Figure Life title=

Small and cute too.

Figure Life title=

Nendoroid Asakura Ryoko out later this week - check out more pics of her at Good Smile.

Figure Life title=

Ryoko comes with a load of bits n pieces for your other Nendoroids too.

Figure Life title=

One of the parts is for Haruhi.

Figure Life title=

Cute heh?

Figure Life title=

And another part is for Mikuru.

Figure Life title=

I use plastic boxes from the 100 yen shop to store Nendoroid bits n pieces. Where is you keeping your odds n ends?

Figure Life title=

Some furniture for the Figma Theater.

Figure Life title=

Looks like some Yuri action going on back stage.

Figure Life title=

Taiga does a Double Nice Boat.

Figure Life title=

And who is the owner of this lovely V-zone? Find out at Good Smile.

Figure Life title=

Lovely oshiri too.

Figure Life title=

I guess this is the most boring part of my job - disposing of the boxes ^^;

Figure Life title=

And the lovely Alice acquired from Benippon - will try to do a review of her this week. The quality is pretty amazing.

That gives me a good idea for whenever I move out, bagging them up like that. As for cleaning, hardly ever. Guess I should get started.

As the bags are sealable, you can seal them with air inside too which acts like padding.

    hey, nice to find out that I'm not the only one who keeps my toys in resealable plastic bags when not in display. wonder where your Nanoha got the mark from, judging from the colour must have been lulu or spinzaku, ^^ however regardless of that your gundam thinner is in need of a gundam. ^^; a Figma Ryu? first time I've seen a stocky figma, I guess it'll be the gruesome quintet + 1 now? ^^;

I need clean up mines, but I don't have much.

It's common on my neighbor clean the entire house once a week, so we employ someone to clean the house every week.

In my house we do the cleaning from 15 to 15 days, and the other weekends a woman come to clean the house.

Everyday we remove the dust, so I get about 15 minutes each day to clean T_T.

This way i think have a lot of figures like Danny is a good decision ^-^...

Danny, I'm just staring at you...all those figures!!!
I'm surprised that you don't keep the boxes. I keep them just in case I move or something.
The boxes are useful yet takes up space...
Plastic bags are useful to a point but sometimes if you bag it wrong, you can break the figures...
I didn't know houses in Japan has that many bugs. How many bugs invade your house i wonder...

You mentioned before that you use a pastry brush to dust your figurines. What type of pastry brush is it? I've seen some with nylon while others with normal err straw-like strands. Which one should I go for? I'm afraid of scratching my figurines.

I've been checking out the QB/QG figures quite a bit lately, and see they got Nanael coming out in November, but the proportions on it on a bit odd, and her shirt doesn't look as if its on her correctly. I should probably get more of those resealable plastic bags. And that plastic case seems like a good idea too. :) As far as dusting and cleaning my figs, I don't do them much often as most are behind glass. But for those I almost always fiddle around with and recently acquired end up out in the open until I decide to fix up my work space.

Danny, What thinner do you use? I see it's a Gunze sangyo but I know they have various thinners for different kinds of paint.

"The most boring part of your job is getting rid of boxes"...*groans* Of course. There is more figure loot in any given picture up there than I get in a year.

That picture of Mitsuki leaning over Tsukasa on a bed looks oddly natural, and ponytail Haruhi Nendroid = Win.

    Hmmm, nope... can't recall any "anti bug smoke" here... though when you have some problems with nasty bugs and call the guy who does it job-wise they use some machine and smoke to get them killed as well i think. ^^;
But nothing you could buy in a shop i think...

    Is it that important to do that in Japan? So many nasty bugs? I have read a lot about the big spiders and giant hornets by now, quiet scary... i don't like insects. ><;

Never seen bug stuff like that here in America... but we never had bug problems in this house so I haven't had to shop for that kind of thing. We just have some roach spray just in case.

I feel bad getting rid of figure boxes sometimes, because some are just so nicely made. XD But I can think of it this way... less room taken up by boxes is room for more figures and other anime/game goodies. I trashed a couple earlier today. XP

As for storing bits and pieces, so far I've got two small plastic bins and one large ziplock bag full of my extra doll and figure stuff. And displaying... I display my stuff on my desks and on some wall shelves. I'd like to get a detolf one day though, and get rid of the wall shelves. I'd leave the figures on my desks alone though, because I like messing with those while I'm drawing or working.

For your poll question, clean figures?!? Such things exist? I guess its cause I never really touch mine and therefore do not need to clean it but I see how you would need to Danny. Always playing with them and bringing them out to dinner where they get all greasy.

Better than fumigating them, I suppose...

I've never really had bug problems here, but I've never seen something like that either. I'm pretty sure most people would just call in the exterminators if there is a bug problem. But this anti-bug smoke does seem like a much more cost effective method.

From the figurines' boxes all I keep is the clear plastic from the inside. I cut it out a bit and throw the rest. It takes a bit more space (but a lot less than the boxes) than throwing everything in a generic box, but it does preserve the figurine very well.

I have the boxes for every figure. Since I dont have many displayed, the lone boxes dont take up much room. I would love to ditch the boxes but I put away the figures in the summer since the tend to melt in the NY heat. I try to keep things as clean as possible by wiping them with a wet bounty. If I threw out my boxes, I'd definitely have baggies to keep the extra pieces organized. Just so I know what soft boobs go to what figure XD

Woah, so many SAF's, figure companies are just throwing new releases to you, looks like you'll need to find more space to display all your figures. Cleaning looks like a hassle as well.

This morning I had cleaned all my figures, used a soft-tip paint brush, and those static-charged towels which attract dust. I clean my figures every month or so.

I would never use those bug bombs, for our house we call a professional to spray insecticide along the edges of every room, the poison still works after a year or two. Kills most insects except flying ones... which are easily taken care of with flyspray.

I just use a can of compressed air to dust as needed. The figures on the bottom shelf acquire more dust on their bases quickly from the rug being so close. Eventually I do want to put them in glass cases because I want pets and don't want the figures chewed or knocked over by a curious cat or an energetic dog.

I keep my nendoroid bits in the original box, and take them out when I need them. Just did a photoshoot of them yesterday and had all 5 boxes laying on the floor and heads, arms and legs spread around ;p. I took them with my new camera, Canon EOS 450D. I have my figures in shelves around my room, so every week, more or less, I clean all figures for a shelve, and have an order to do this, so all my figures are more or less clean...

I also do the same with figures I can`t display, I keep them on bags, and put on boxes, waiting to be displaed again.

Unfortunately, it's been awhile since I cleaned my shelves of my figures or should I say a very long time. -_-; (*sigh*) what's pretty funny is that I keep some of my figures in my boxes like my 1/6 scale figure of Spike from Cowboy Bebop (lol, I guess you can say that's keeping figures clean) As far as I can see from my shelves, my figures needs some updates.

I think the only GSC Figure I have at home is Kaname from Full Metal Panic where she is holding a bazooka of sorts, but it's definitely my favorite female character ^__^.

I've got to get a couple of those bags. I have a few collectors books that have just been sitting on my shelf for the past few years. I mean, they're out of direct sunlight, and I don't open them. But my mother smokes, so that can't be good for them.

And we have bug bombs here in the states. You push down a button and it fills the house with a fog that kills the bugs. You have to leave for 4-6 hours. And don't leave any food or pets out in the house. The food will go bad, and the pets will die.

I only clean my figures when I take them out of the box for a photoshoot or to look over. That's just to wipe away fingerprints and any dust/residue then it's back into the box.

In fact, I ever rarely display them outside of the box which I keep in mint condition as well. Poor Tsuzuri, Churam, Kagami, Sumomo, Kasumi.... Maybe I'll take the ladies out for some fresh air this weekend.

My, this site gets quite pervy sometimes, doesn't it? I don't take my figures out of the boxes to cleaning is a breeze. I actually bought most of them as an investment. Since they are already worth at least twice their original value after only a year or so, they will probably probably provide quite a nestegg in twenty years or so, especially MIB. Currently I'm shopping around for classy display cabinets with glass doors, but finding little below $1000 for an eight foot wide six foot tall cabinet.

That should be "so cleaning is a breeze." And yes, in the use we have pest foggers also commonly called bug bombs. They figure quite often in many film noire murder mysteries. Great way to get rid of a pesky freeloader, get 'em drunk until they pass out and then pop a bug bomb. The police usually list it as death my misadventure. };)
