Great Wall O SAFS title=

I think this is the biggest pile O SAFS that I've acquired so far ^^;;

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Lets wizz through the latest bunch.
Mikuru Nendoroid.

Great Wall O SAFS title=
Great Wall O SAFS title=

Melissa Seraphy Nendoroid Devil version that was on sale at the Wonfes.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

"A member of Zeed" from Revoltech's Fist of the North Star series.

Great Wall O SAFS title=
Great Wall O SAFS title=

Kenshiro from the same Revoltech series. Both of these are out next month. Thanks to comrades at Hobby Stock for the samples.

Ken comes with a pair of nunchucks perfect for Figma Haruhi ^^;

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Some makers prefer I keep quiet while others prefer me mention where they came from. The toughest thing is keeping quiet about (no photos) the other stuff thats not due out for months ^^;

Great Wall O SAFS title=
Great Wall O SAFS title=

Spinzaku - otherwise known as Kururugi Suzaku. This is the Wonfes packaging.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Max Factory Em Em to go with my Kemeko.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

From a few conversations that I've had with comrades in the figure industry, they tell me that the figure buying population in Japan is largely made up of folks over the age of 30.
But outside of Japan, the figure buying population seems to be much younger. At what age was you when you purchased your first ever anime/eroge figurine? Do you remember what your first figure was?

The first PVC figure I got was Aya Natsume by Bome and that was when I was 33.

Great Wall O SAFS title=
Great Wall O SAFS title=

Hachune Miku Wonfes edition.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Non scale and is smaller than I thought but well made and cute.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Nagato Yuki Wonfes edition.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Pastel Ink Nendoroid. Toooo cute.

Great Wall O SAFS title=
Great Wall O SAFS title=

Konata Figma.

Hector's Tachikoma comes over to peek at its new buddy.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

The nice folks at E2046 sent over this pre-painted kit of Wai Fung from the Elegance series.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Wai Fung came with some blurb as follows.

Wai Fung is another creation in Elegance series by ORI Team. Wai Fung features the custom and culture of an ancient Chinese lady. The gown, pattern on her dress, accessories are all designed according to the Chinese belief, myths and tradition.

The first highlight of Wai Fung figure is the gown that she is wearing. The gown consist a few patterns of bachelor's-button and Chinese phoenix. Chinese phoenix is a symbol of feminine entity in ancient Chinese culture as Dragon presents male. The Chinese phoenix on Wai Fung’s gown also brings out her high virtue and grace. Furthermore, the Chinese phoenix pattern on her dress is not a decal but is actually sculpted. The sculpture is well defined and looks very natural with the folds of her dress.

The second attention must pay to the craftsmanship of the fur on Wai Fung's neck and sleeves of her gown. Fur is one of the oldest forms of clothing in ancient China. Huge effort was made to sculpt the detail of the fur. You can tell how well-defined the far is by looking at the photos.

Pearl, golden token, fazan and jade pendant are accessories that ancient Chinese always fanaticize about. On Wai Fung's hair, flowers and fazan are tacked. Fazan is a hairpin for a lady to hold her hair together. A golden fazan is a symbol of wealth and social position. The flowers and fazan make Wai Fung young and aristocratic.

Finally the little pet on Wai Fung’s arm is a cute hedgehog. It shows Wai Fung is close to animals and nature.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

You can also see some development pics of Wai Fung at E2046.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

This is the only pre-painted kit I have in my collection and am impressed with attention to detail that they spent on this figure - especially considering that they paint each one by hand.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Looks like they only have 7 pieces left in stock - 158 USD from E2046.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

If there was a complaint to be made then it would be that the strap hanging off her leg was broken upon arrival but was easily fixed with some super glue.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

Ah yes - another complaint is that she does not cast off ^^;

Great Wall O SAFS title=

E2046 also have a load of other kits and PVC's which you may want to check out.

Great Wall O SAFS title=

And thanks to all for the get-well messages and the 2D presents in the Member News section. Am feeling much better now.

    My first scale PVC was Megahouse's Hinata Aki from their Keroro Gunsou "Heroines" series. I purchased it at ACen (a US mid-west anime convention) about 2.5 years ago and I turned 16 a few days before the convention, relatively young I guess.

    What's your opinion on MaxFax's Em Em now that you have the final product? Worth a buy?

    Does the Transformer Jetfire count as a first anime figure since it used the same mold as the Macross Valkyries? Hmm, if not then my first anime figure would be the Roy Focker's Battle Damaged Veritech from Toyfare magazine followed by the Toynami Masterpiece Collection VF-1J. Then didnt get any more anime related figures untill the last year or two. Before that I mostly bought Star Wars figures.

    Two alloy tachikoma, oh my! I'd like to splurge on one of those before I go home, but it's really unjustifiably expensive, plus I'm out of space in my luggage. T___T

    Hey Danny~ Really glad to read you're feeling better, best thing I found for staying healthy is to have a regular sleeping pattern, doesn't really matter how long you sleep (6-8 hrs pref), so long as you go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.

    Seeing so many great figures makes me want to buy even though I don't have enough funds for unnecessary things atm (though I'm sure many you would they're a necessity ;P~). I really love the Nendoroid series, they're so cute~ my first proper figure was the Haruhi one, I only had a few of the smaller 'figurines' otherwise.

Also going back to the states soon, and I have a huge haul from Akiba, wish I could show you guys. Anybody have any good suggestions on how to bring this stuff home? 1st figure at 33? not typo?

    My 1st was at 23, its a 1/8 Bandai Arika Yumemiya.

    Lately we In Malaysia had an issue with the media where a tabloid highlights that anime figure is absurd and made of erotic/nudity and not safe for 'rich kids'. Few baseless assumption is that:
    1. all figure are erotic
    2. not safe for kids
    3. rich/wealthy kids toys.
    It made figure collectors in malaysia go into RAGE

    *Walks in and drools on keyboard*:P All the figma we have just recently bought and they just end up on your doorstep, I think that is so awesome!:D I wish I had a job like yours Danny!:D Although what I would really like to do is create my own anime or do voice acting. Someday, someday... That is a goal for me, next to actually getting to Tokyo. Oh wow! I can't believe I managed to set up an account here, yet, I haven't commented. I think it's because I was too busy with stuff. So, I might as well start commenting now. I must have missed a lot of new features since the set up.

    That's a lot of figurines! As for my first figurine, I actually bought two from my friend: a Morrigan one and a Nakoruru one with the latter being in quite poor condition. (The bow would fall off easily.) I bought them about four or five years ago when I was still in college? I sold the Morrigan one because I needed money at the time. I so need to reduce my figurine buying habits seeing that I bought the Pinky Haruhi figurine yesterday while I was waiting for the Glay concert in San Francisco. XD

    Oh. Um, if you all are wondering, I am just your standard fan constantly learning a lot of stuff. Eh heh heh.

    Over 30? Weird. I think it has something to do with a different fan demographic. It sounds like the majority of fans in Japan are either men in their 30's or young kids. Here in the states, the majority are supposedly girls in their late teens and early twenties. (Though I think the recent success of Bleach has helped even out the gender discrepancy a little.)

    I got some Chobits gasphons when I was about 16 as party favors once, but I hardly count them as figures. I started really getting into them this year, mostly with Figmas, but I know I'll be caving in and getting Alter's Louise in January and/or GSC'S Unity Mei in Februrary. ^^;

    What a nice haul you've managed to gather Danny! The Tachikoma and 1/6th Wai Fung have definitely caught my eye. Excellent choices in the photos too. You've definitely caught all the necessary details in getting people to buy her. The guys over at ORI Team really do know their choices of coloring and details... I was curious about e2046

    are they selling original production casts or are they recasting their own?
    I mean for licensed figures, not their own production line

    I was around 12... Back when I didn't know about collecting and all, I got a Sailor Moon figure. Didn't really take care of it and now I have no idea where it is >.>

    I think I also got the others but anyway, the figures I have now were all bought at the age of 22 (a couple of months ago) ^^

    Sorry, but I'm new to part of this concept. What does SAFS mean?

    Not those toys by Kubrick you mean right? Or that toyline?

    Does anybody know of any good 1/8 archer girl figures? I have Bome's Yamamoto Isoroku and have just ordered the Kotobukiya re-release of Kureha in 1/8 scale. The series doesn't matter so much as the following:

    1. good/exceptional quality
    2. 1/8 scale (yes, I've seen the 1/7 scale Kureha by Max Factory)

    Thanks for any replies

    I saw Anime Figures, and I thought $$$, as in the state of the union of Anime so to speak. If kids keep pirate'n DVD's and such, the industry will fold. So enjoy it while it lasts, since young people have no ethical dilemmas with stealing (oh sorry, downloading is the cleaned up way of not calling it stealing from others...) And that is a sad commentary on a generation that will point a finger at politicians or corporations as thieves or destroyers without a thought. Hypocrites all.
