Oh wow. O_O Figure manufacturers (or perhaps just GSC?) are paying more and more attention to the otaku scene. It's an interesting strategy, catering to what the consumer/fanbase has created on their own and proven popular.

Seems like they're taking the whole Consumer Generated Media and consumer feedback philosophy to heart. I wonder if Danny and his Tokyo CGM meets contributed to this at least somewhat.

Interesting. And it's a thus-far untapped approach to things that could prove very successful and beneficial for all involved.

    I'm curious about that as well - actually, I'm just as curious as to whether they had to give credit to the fans who originally drew them. The BRS designer is well-known, but isn't fan-art creative commons? It might mean that they don't even need to pay anyone or ask for permission.

  Yes, they have a research team that deals with this. They read and research on the opinions of people. Their likes and dislikes, what aspects of figures they are fond of and what not. That is just another reason why they give Danny and many more bloggers and site owners free stuff, not only to promote, but to hear opinions as well.

Omg! This is really killing Miku fans such as myself. I am most likely getting BRS, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford this too. Not too fond of lying down poses either even though she looks beautiful and that's how she is in the art. I would be all over a Love is War version and seeing how GSC is going I think that might come up so I'll pass on this.

Mreh, first I have to say I don't like this figure at all. Second, I liked the whole Miku meme thing when it was first around, but after the 23,000 iterations of all of the different vocaloids being released it just feels like homogenized schlock to me.
