Sonic Diver title=

Haruhi kidnaps Otoha and takes her Reijin for a spin.

Sonic Diver title=

For those who don't know, this green thingy is an exoskeleton known as a Sonic Diver. This one in particular is piloted by Otoha from the anime Sky Girls or as some folks prefer to call the anime - "Sky Lolis."

Sonic Diver title=

Do check it out if you have not seen it. The girls are gorgeous (my fave is Eika) and the battle scenes are rather coolsome.

Sonic Diver title=

The OVA is rather good too - 30 mins packed with loli battles.

Sonic Diver title=

Reijin is manufactured by Freeing and released by GoodSmile.

Sonic Diver title=

Now just because I get figures for free, it does not mean I'm going to give them all glowing reviews.
While Reijin looks decent in the photos, the quality is well below what you would normally expect from Freeing given their excellent Haruhi Bunnies.

Sonic Diver title=

Most of Reijin is color injected plastic and looks like unpainted Gunpla - will probably look excellent after a sand down and a lick O paint.

Sonic Diver title=

Rejin transforms into the different modes that you see in the anime. Transforming is a pain and could not be bothered so check out the other modes at Akiba Hobby if you are interested ^^;

Sonic Diver title=

Rejin comes with a mixture of ABS and PVC plastic. Apart from the head, the rest of the body is well articulated.

Sonic Diver title=

My Figma Haruhi is starting to loose color in the hair due to me carrying her around everywhere. Luckily I received a spare one ^^;

Sonic Diver title=

One annoying thing - the gun and sword can only be carried in the right hand because there is a knob on the handle.

Sonic Diver title=

Which is your fave Sonic Diver? I prefer Eika's Raijin - its those guns on the shoulders.

Sonic Diver title=

Haruhi is bigger than Otoha so I need some Blu Tac to keep her in place.

Sonic Diver title=

One of these in the wallpaper pool.

Sonic Diver title=

And for those who was wondering where Otoha was...
The quality of Otoha is pretty appalling - check closeup pic at AkibaHobby.

Sonic Diver title=

I'm thinking of making some exoskeletons or mecha for Mirai and Haruka - what would you prefer the girls to have?

Sonic Diver title=

Maybe inking the panels would make it look better too.

Sonic Diver title=

Anybody else already made the purchase for Reijin?

Sonic Diver title=
Sonic Diver title=
Sonic Diver title=

Click on this image for the larger version and put on your motivational message thinking hat ^^;

Sonic Diver title=

Some pics of X-Yuki thrown in "for the lulz" as they say.

Sonic Diver title=
Sonic Diver title=

The X unit thingy fits perfectly in the hole behind the Figmas.

Sonic Diver title=

The pack comes from GFF 0033 Gundam X.

Sonic Diver title=

If you are looking for any of the goodies in this article then try one of the following...

Sonic Diver title=

God Gundam joins the scene...

Sonic Diver title=

And says something to Yuki...
What are they saying?!

I'd say that Karen's Fuujin is my fave (also gotta love those super-shy/hot geniuses!) Her Diver didn't look the best but the whole concept of it being designed to be piloted by a technical genius was very cool.

Plus I'm a sucker for radar guided cluster missles, but who isn't?

If Haruhi and Yuuki goes to the world of Sky Girls, both of them would easily eradicate all the alien invasion -_-

I don't think haruhi would be one to destroy the very things she's looking for. In fact, if haruhi were one of the sky girls, alien invasion would only be immanent!

Hey, great photowork! It's not just that the figures are crisply focused, but also that the pics are pretty interesting. I really like that from your photos- the figures look like they're in motion. In fact, your figure cross-over work (esp the Haruhi Freedom custom) inspired me to do something similar:
    http://wbd.deviantart.com/art/Figma-Yuki-in-Gundam-Form-90157737
It turned out to be pretty fun, so thanks for showing me that it could be done.

Mecha versus exoskeleton- As I'm currently watching VOTOMS, and was a big Bubblegum Crisis fan, I vote for a smaller mech- maybe only slightly larger than human like a Scopedog, though styled in a more feminine form. A bit of a mini Fei-Yen, perhaps. How about hardsuits?

While I'm not Danny, I can answer that question- a lot of the Gundam parts have rods or attachment points that can fit into the holes for mounting pegs that the Figma use. I've done that with my Figma Yuki. Sometimes a little blue tac or plasticine will help keep them on, too.

I didn't really think you were serious about them being called Sky Lolis and then I watched the video. They should really rename that series since Sky Lolis is just better. I was kinda skeptical on the quality of the Figmas but after I got my Figma Saber, I was pleasantly surprised. I might have to pick up the Haruhi version. I voted for Exoskeleton Mirai and Haruka because then you can still see the girls.
