iPhone For Everybody

The carrier for the iPhone in Japan Softbank have announced a promotion called "iPhone For EveryBody" where you can get an iPhone for 0 yen. The promotion period is between Feb 27th and May 31st.
Only the 8GB model is available for free but one still needs to pay the monthly fee of 2,324 yen for talk time. Softbank do recommend however that one takes out the full packet plan too which gets you unlimited internet access - total amount comes to 5,705 yen.
The 8GB model used to cost 23,040 yen and becomes 0 yen, the 16GB model used to cost 34,560 yen and now costs 11,520 yen.
The promotion ending at the end of May further confirms the rumors of the new iPhone coming out in June - looks like they really need to get rid of stock. I'm still going to wait until June ^^
