Just up is preorder info for two figures at the GSC site.
1. Freeing Konata. 1/4 scale, 11,800 yen and due out in June.
2. Reco from the shooting game "Mushihime-sama Futari." Also due out in June and retail for 9,800 yen - 1/7 scale desu.
Any of these two on your get list?

Some *crazy* Mushihime shooting action below.

    How do people PLAY these things? I can't even see the character. It's a big flat screen of purple and somehow the player is staying within the two pixels that aren't. It boggles my mind.

      You should see touhou.... I can't even beat the game... Eventually the bullets go so F-cking fast, your reaction time and surgery hands have to pass GOD. *crawls up in corner* "Momma, help me". Some people that are god at touhou, they even amp up the difficulty with hacks when it's not enough. All you gots to do to beat the game is practicing said surgery skills and reaction time and bullet map memorization!

        That doesn't bode well...

        ^^; I figured I might as well try Touhou to see what the hype was about awhile ago. I have Embodiment of Scarlet Devil right now, and I can't even get halfway through the game on Easy with three continues. I was thinking I'd get a bit better with time...

        But if Touhou's worse than this, no way I'm going to beat it. ^^; Skill gap is way too wide,

    You know, I'm trying to be economically watertight and this glut of Lucky Star stuff isn't helping, especially since it's mostly Kona-chan. This iteration is A-dorable, and the other figure -- though I've never even heard of that shooter -- is kinda cool, cept for her hair. I won't exactly be buying her, but I like her all the same. I've noticed the trend of translucent hair lately and it ranges from tacky (that Waga no Oinari-sama figure from last year comes to mind) to kinda neat (the Queen's Blade figure with the pink slime covering it). I just wish it'd stay artful rather than tacky, but I guess whenever you make the monochromatic prototype it doesn't show up until you mass produce it.

    Three issues why I will get neither, especially Kona-chan.

    1) The upcoming Haruhi figurine (mad by Max Factory) is superior in detail and costs less.

    2) I don't like the sculpting that much (if feels a bit off to me) and think it is too basic for that price.

    3) For the same price, I could go online and buy both the issue of Comptiq I still want (as it has a Lucky Star item) and the limited edition Konata Izumi box set. Then I'd still have money to buy a few manga volumes at Kinokuniya in Little Tokyo.

    Heck... For less than that item, I bought two official fan books and six manga volumes. (^^;;

The 2nd character looks like something I could see in Everquest 1 or 2 MMO but no idea who she is. I like the 1/4 scale figurines but can think of a whole lot of other characters I would want first. woah. what is up with the price tag on konata?! Even if it is 1/4 (That's not really tall considering it's Konata's height haha!), the sculpt doesn't look THAT great.

    right figure is pretty nice, but I'll be passing on it, too many figures on preorder currently.

    Passing on both. Saw the Konata in person and she is much too large for me. Running out of space as it is and I have to save room for other items that are around her height...

    I can't say I'm a big fan of that Konata... something about her seems weird. I think I'd prefer a normal school outfit for her.

    Thinking hard about the FREEing Konata since I saw her pre-order up earlier.

    Getting it would also mean being encouraged to get the upcoming ones of Kagami, Tsukasa and Miyuki, so I'm worried about how much it will spend ^^;

    Way too expensive for me. I understand the price of Konata being 1/4, but Reco? That is a little too much even for a 1/7.

    mmm not sure if it's the face or pose, but something about konata doesn't scream buy to me... which is necessary for a 1/4 ^^;

    i assume mushihime futari is the sequel? i've played the first, but can barely get past the first couple stages ^^;; not familiar with reco so gonna have to pass unless a bonus/raise comes my way :P

    Is it just me, or are figures getting more expensive now? The high cost + rising yen is making it hard for my wallet.

    Unfortunately, I have to pass on both. I'm saving money for my trip to Los Angeles in a little over four months. Between now and then, I will have to cut visits to various places like this one bakery I go to (in which I spend $10 or so every month while I'm there). Konata and Reco look okay. It's that I just bought Miku last month and when I go to San Francisco soon, if I find an intriguing figurine, the figurine I buy there will be the last one I'll buy for the year. (I'm only buying two figurines for the year.)
