Looks like the start of a new season of videos - Japanese Office Tours. First up is episode 01 - the Good Smile offices.
You saw a few photos from my last visit but the video footage contains more including a peek at my fave room (the store room), the 3D cutting machine and tools, pre-flight check which includes a peek at Shuraki Rize, Needa, Moetan and Chu Chu Astram - all which are yet to be released. Nendoroid Hatsune Miku also makes an appearance.

I've got more to show including a look at the sculpting room and a 1x1 with the boss of Good Smile Aki-san but YouTube is not letting me upload more than 100MB (boo) so will upload season one episode two tomorrow.

Episode three will be the Max Factory video tour and episode four will probably an eroge or animation company.

Many thanks to Mikatan (who writes for the official Good Smile blog) for taking time out for the video shoot.
Beknowist that you can pre-order any of the figures shown on one of dannychoo.com's following trusted figure dealers.

Do excuse the quality of the reporting - me not used to doing this and get shy when on camera ^^;; Also do excuse the poor video editing too - while iMovie 08 is great at throwing something together - its incredibly crap for doing anything remotely intelligent which is why you see a mirai mark all of a sudden when in the 3D printing room - all I wanted to do was to cover an object with a logo orz.

And a quick question about video streaming. I'm aware that many of you don't have a fantastic broadband connection from a previous poll so would like to know whether you had trouble viewing the video clip.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Figures category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

great tour! the start with you holding the handy cam kinda reminded me of the shakey handy cam effect from movies like Cloverfield n blair witch. lol

i thought of bringing my figures to work but can't imagine other pple grabbing them with their dirty hands! lol

    Can't wait for more tours.

First off, I think this is the first time I've heard you talk in English, Danny. Nice accent! ;)

Very informative video and I guess the staff at Good Smile Company must be very familiar with you visiting and playing with their figures. I think if you were in charge, they would have to change to the "Good Eyes Company"... hmm, you should consider starting your own rival figure company perhaps?! Just kidding :P

No, problems viewing this video. For me, it's depends on the time of the month as I have a download limit and once I reach it, I go to 64kb speed, which totally suck.

I'm looking forward to more videos, Danny, especially the animation or ero company one!! (better have that Mirai mark blocker sorted out by then hehehe)

Dont' say sorry, it was a great tour - even for someone who isn't into figures it was very interessting to watch and most important, easy to understand.
Also the camera movement was pretty much good too, seems Mikatan has expierience or a load of talent for it but i didn't notice any moments were i would have said "uhh missed something" or such.
So, thumbs up and looking forward to the next one. ^^v

I heard from a lot of people that iMovie 08 wasnt very good, and you can get iMovie 07 what was supposed to be a lot better. It should up on apples website. Or you could get Final Cut Express if you think you're gonna keep making videos.

    very nicely done!

i will definately be tuning in for the next episode. (definately need a theme song... O.o)

i do truly believe GSC and Max Factory is true artists when it comes down to figure sculpting...

some companies seem to produce figures regardless whether or not they are good or bad as if they have a quota they need to meet at the end of the month...

definately, quality over quantity in my opinion...

oh btw danny, any plans to do coverage on Alter? I am expecting them to be a powerhouse in the figure world in the next year or so... would love to see something for them!

XD Yeah, just gonna repeat what the others said really. Always knew you were from Britain, but the English accent still caught me off guard - I've heard you say Japanese, but English was new.

Thanks for the vid. That 3D pen-computer-feedback thing was twenty levels of awesome.

Wow! What a nice tour! So many figures. Defo want a whole load of them. Alas, we get to hear you speak English. I hear hints of a Cockney accent and a general southern posh accent. That's coming from someone who comes from the north (which is the best) and has a mixture of British accents, most noticeably a Mancunian accent!
Wonder how much that printer costs...likely a lot lot more than my whole student loan. Thanks for the video, looking forward to future ones. GO BIG EYES!!!! O.O

Awesome tour! That 3-D Pen thing was crazy! Yeah like you said, if I worked there, I probably won't get any work done while playing with the figures all day...xD

I guess I didn't think of the accent, so used to hearing people of different cultures, I just wish I knew more Japanese... will learn, very soon!:D... Quick question for you Danny, where can a person like me acquire those posters? I was like "OMG! *Drool*!"
And had no troubles viewing the video, very good work on the video btw, very informative, I look forward to the next episode!:D And as far as eye talk, yes, there was quite a bit, but I didn't mind, i'm used to that type of talk.:P
