Article at Mainichi about something which I've seen picked up on the TV quite a few times in the past too - that primary school kids find it embarrassing to do a poo at school. What this leads to is kids holding it in until they get home - which is obviously not good for ones health.
One of the reasons they give is that they are teased for pooing at school.
Comments on this article at Itai News show that this has been going back for more than 40 years or so.
To help kids understand the importance of pooing when they need to go, the educational bodies have been issuing books with characters made of poo - they come with eyes n mouth too...
