Kotobukiya

Spent most of yesterday in meetings with Kotobukiya.
Before we broke for lunch, I had a chance to get quick pics of some yummy to-be-released figures.

Kotobukiya

First up is Lei Fang from the DOAX series. Folks who read my news items would have already seen this figure of DOAX Lei Fang together with the pole dancing video.

Kotobukiya

Looks gorgeous close up.

Kotobukiya

Extremely photogenic figure ^^;

Kotobukiya

Lei Fang retails at 8,190 yen and should be out any day now.

Kotobukiya

おいしそうなお尻です。

Kotobukiya
Kotobukiya

おっぱいもおいしそうです。

Kotobukiya
Kotobukiya

This figure of Boba is entitled "Boba Fett Ver2" and is from Kotobukiya's ARTFX series.
Retails for 10,290 yen and is out in March.

Kotobukiya

Seeing this figure yesterday made me wish I got Boba armor instead of Vader armor. Boba armor is difficult to get hold of as all the different pieces of armor are made by different sellers. Dealing with multiple sellers on eBay is something I'd rather avoid.

Kotobukiya

If anybody has Boba armor and wants to swap for my Vader armor then let me know ^^;
My Vader helmet is a new version different from the crappy one I initially posted.

Kotobukiya
Kotobukiya

Boba Panty shot.

Kotobukiya
Kotobukiya

The yummy Kotori Shirakawa from the Da Capo SS series.

Kotobukiya

1/7 scale and is out in Feb. Retails for 6,090 yen.

Kotobukiya

The next in thing after ribbon-on-panties is ribbon-on-leg.

Kotobukiya

"Cute bottom!" in Japanese is
"Oshiri ga Kyuto!" [お尻がキュート!]. The next time you are in Japan, shout this out 5 times in the middle of a shopping area and you may get lucky.

Kotobukiya

The underside of Kotori-chan.

Kotobukiya

Now a look at the ToHeart girls.

Kotobukiya

Maid Konomi. You would have seen her pantsu in my news items.
You may want to subscribe to the news items if you find that you are missing out on the latest figure releases.

Kotobukiya

A quick pause to look at the Moetans.

Kotobukiya

And larger version of the Moetans.

Kotobukiya

Shirufa is a cutie.

Kotobukiya

The CLANNAD girls.

Kotobukiya
Kotobukiya

The limited edition Amazon Mirei-san. Personally not too keen on these colors.

Kotobukiya

Persona figures. I'm still on EP1.

Kotobukiya
Kotobukiya
Kotobukiya

Ayane and Lei Fang by the reception.

Kotobukiya

If you saw anything that tickles your fancy then have a look on one of these recommended online dealers.

Kotobukiya

And leave you with todays poll which is to talk about which figure company do you have most figures of.
A quick look around the room (without counting) shows that most of my figures are Max Factory, then its a tie-ish between GoodSmile and Kotobukiya. Then its Alter, Freeing, Kaiyodo and others.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Figures category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

most of my collection consists of Kotobukiya figures, i'd refer to have some more Good Smile and Max Factory figures, but i find more Kotobukiya figures locally for great prices so i end up buying more of them as implulse buys. But when i pre-order figrues online i tend to drop Kotobukiya figures after some thought.

Well since they practically have a monopoly on good To Heart figures my collection is very much Kotobukiya-centric.

I also like Bandai alot they make cheap and good figures (their Gundam girls are win!)

An assortment of other ones, based on the characters they produce (ie MF Haruhi was superior to everything except perhaps Freeing).

Most of my figures are from Good Smile, through the winning margin is narrow. Two of them are from Good Smile, one from Max Factory and one from Yamato.

The other anime related goods are rather toys than figures.

The Kotori figure looks great. I'm not sure about buying it as I already have a figure of her and I don't have much space left in my room...

From my severely limited collection of PVC kits, I can say they are overwhelmingly Alter.

That Bobba Fett looks really good. The newer trilogy really ruined Star Wars for me though, so I pass on most Star Wars things.

Koto is very hit or miss for me, so I never pre-order their figures and wait for good reviews or wait to see them in person at conventions before picking them up.

Right now I have one more Alter figure than Max Factory, but with the MF Saber and Emiya in transit I will have 1 more MF figure by the end of the week.

I'm gonna go out and say that Bobba Fett and Vader are probably the best looking figures of the bunch. As well, I noticed the bases seem to connect and form the symbol of the Galactic empire! That means, there are still a couple statues missing for the whole base to be complete :O! I'm guessing a storm trooper will be on it's way. Maybe even a sandtrooper, snowtroopers, or perhaps even admiral piett :p

Boba Fett's armor is so cool! If I had the choice between many, I'd choose this one (but it is too bad parts don't come from a single group).

The 6th picture of Darth Vader is funny, it's like if our favorite Sith Lord would go for some opera singing.

I also like this version of Mirei-san, can't tell why.

I have quite many Kotobukiya figures. Actually I have more of them than figures from other manufacturers. And now when looking at those photos of new Kotobukiya figures, I think my collection is just going to get bigger soon. At least that Boba Fett looks great, and it'd be nice to have a couple of DoA figures too. But still I think that manufacturers are having difficulties to make DoA girls' faces look the same as in the game. These new ones don't look perfect either, but good enough, so I think I'd like to have at least Ayane and Lei Fang wearing white-blue top. Okay, Kasumi is my favourite, so it'll make it quite a difficult to decide which to get first.

I do also have figures from many other manufacturers. Max Factory seems to be quite popular. Maybe it's because many have their Haruhi. I got my MF Haruhi today, and have now three Max Factory figures. But Good Smile is still quite a new thing for me, only have one Mikuru. Had to buy it in the local comic store, because it was all alone there among all those scary Aliens and Predators.

By the way, Laughingman, have a look at the Kotobukiya web site, and you'll see, that those SW figures you were talking about in your post actually do already exist, at least most of them.

Kotobukiya is my least favorite of the "Good" pvc makers... the figures usually lack shading or are too shiny... but the good point is that they're cheaper compared to the others

The first big figure i bought was from halo 3, the masterchief artfx statue by kotobukiya, and i has really amaze with the details of the figure, something i think it's a trademark of the company.
About the figures you show, i would really like to have the darth vader one, but the to hearts ones looks really cool too.
The real problem it's not to buy all those figures. But to have money to buy all those goodies is another question.

Finally got my Chie Yoshioka which I ordered back in late November. She was so worth the wait!! (Regardless of the fact the colour combo of yellow and green is the Norwich City football team colours!! lol) She's just so darn cute!!! I think she comes 2nd or 3rd in my figure collection(12 and counting!! (13 including L-Nendo) I think I'm gonna try and get lots of To Heart 2 figures lol... got 2 already by accident hehe.)

But anyways! Her quality is awesome. And her pose is so cute and she has striped panties!!! lol And its yet another semi-cast off... WHY DO I BUY THEM?? lol :sob: It's not my fault.... It doesnt say you can take their skirts off anywhere I've seen....
