With all the hype about President Obama in the last few days it's good to see some more light hearted stuff.

No thanks lol. I only collect female figurines, unless it comes in a set with other characters from a Anime show I won't buy male ones. I did get the Haseo figurine with the hack/gu ps2 game 1, too bad it didn't have Pi with it. Thats the only exception.

It would be fun with action figures of other well-known politicians like Sarkozy, Putin or Ahmadinejad. You could also use them to teach kids about how politics work. :)

The Obama figure would also be a nice addition for Figma theater.

AP news even cover what he's having for Thanksgiving dinner, which set me thinking whether that is actually newsworthy, or have we really ran out of things to report around the world.

It's pretty strange - all the pics I've seen don't quite look like him, but I saw the actual figure in a store recently and the resemblance is actually pretty good. My bf is getting this lol.

Barack Obama was *not* my state senator. He was from the district two away from here.
I *recommend* reading the entire story of how he was elected U.S. Senator from Illinois in 2004. The key points being what happened to A] the more prominent Democrat running against him (& two others) in the primary election, and B] the Republican who won that party's primary for the open seat (which was being vacated by a Republican).
If an anime writer had scripted this, you would likely chastize him|her for being completely unrealistic!
