Seijin no Hi

Coming of age is known in Japan as Seijin no Hi [成人の日[せいじんのひ]] and is usually celebrated around the first half of January.
This years Seijin no Hi took place the other day where thousands of Japanese who just turned twenty celebrated by dressing up in traditional attire (many of the boys just wear suits though), going to shrines and in some cases running amok.

The video below shows a quick report on this years celebrations. While the girls are generally quiet and go about celebrating by dressing up, looking nice and taking photos, many of the boys like to get drunk, beat up and swear at pedestrians...

I thought I'd take the opportunity to ask a related question - how old/young are you? Me is old man (35) as you will already know if you've read my profile ^^; While my body is getting older, I feel my mind is still young - maybe because of my otaku interests? Do you feel "younger" than your actual age?

Photos from previous Seijin no Hi celebrations below. If you have been out n about in Japan for the past few days then you would have likely seen many girls dressed up on the trains and walking about town. While boys do take part and dress up, more girls than boys participate in the celebrations.
