A week in Tokyo 6

The past week of the year had two events (Comike / YouTube Neta Battle) and was filled with many other meetings mainly in the Shibuya area.
Here we are on the way to Shibuya for an early morning meeting. Dom joins the SOS dan on the dashboard.

Attended the comike but didn't pick anything up apart from these eroge leaflets and To Love-ru clear folder.

Some Yakiniku for dinner - the cook your own meat thing that Bill Murry found strange in "Lost in Translation."

There is a pet shop in Roppongi with adorable puppies in the window. This little chap was on sale for about 140,000 yen. Judging from the price, I presume its alive when you buy it.

Outside Tokyo Midtown. Many salary men leaving for home and couples just arriving for dinner.

Playing with a friends Eye-Fi. This is too awesome for words. It uploads images from your camera to your computer and you can also have the images automatically upload to a photo sharing service of your choice. No more messing about with wires.

End of year gathering at Weiden and Kennedy.

The gathering was with some Weiden and Kennedy staff and senior members of the monthly Blog Dinner. The few members in this room have a network that reaches just about anybody in the Japanese internet industry.

Top bloggers Drift King and Mitaimon.

This sweet lady is Hina-san - blogger and director of many maid cafes in Akiba.

The offices at Weiden and Kennedy in Tokyo are situated in a building that was designed to be a snazzy restaurant with an apartment on top.

Modifying the armor. Nice n shiny on the outside - rough and nasty looking on the inside ^^;
The brown stuff is dried glue and not skid marks.

At Dogenzaka in Shibuya. Thanks to Xaky for taking the photos.

Ya, I study in a comfortable room at home.Magazine rack holds various Art/Videogame/Anime magazines for lounge reading, and my shelf with an assortment of Manga and books. Figures stand around the room, and my work desk has a nice feel to it. Unfortunately, we're going through renovations on the home, and the younger brother is bunking in my room for the time being; the biggest annoyance you've ever met, and a slob at that.

Ramen! One of these days, I'm going to go out and look for a shop that serves good ramen. I want to try eating one so badly. ;__;

Rolly?
140000yen for a puppy? OMG!
And to think my cousins are giving away (to selected costumers though) 5 puppies for free right now... (their dog gave birth to 8 little puppies on Xmas day).
Anyways, nice post! Love 'em.

Wow, that is a nice looking office space. Really interesting cubes too. You can tell these are fun and hard working people. Always the best kind of environment to work in and people to work with. I'm lucky, no cube for me. I have solid walls and a window too! Only wish we had more color in our office. Bad part is too many people are up tight and always worrying about something. I really worry about some of them...
Work office is still better than the small drab and cold place I call home. Most apartments in Japan feel bigger and more inviting than where I am. I miss the trees and wildlife from other places I have lived. In the end I can't complain too much, I own the place where I live. No mortgage for me.
I've looked at their blogs before, some really interesting people. Darn, it must be really interesting and fun to share some time with people like this! I would be like a BIG sponge in that room. ^^ Look forward to the day when my Nihongo improves and I understand more of what they write.
That is a nice poster... Looks like Mayumi Sada. Maybe that's because i have been watching Hataraki Man for the all week. ^^;
Read something about Eye-Fi before. Sounds interesting if you need to move files directly to a photo service.
With all the maintenance and the rebuild you went through with the armor, you could build and sell your own.
Looking forward to more on the Sony device.
Err... me in talkative mood this evening. ^^;

I don't know much about offices so don't mind my comment, but apart from the many playful objects hanging around what really makes W+K office better than other offices?
Like, better ventilation or anything? ^_^

@Benjamin Takeyo: I believe its better in terms of:
- big ass cubicles
- studio like environment with down lights (not like typical offices)
- individual adjustable table lamps
- see thru metal cubicles LOL
- you can bring whatever you like to office LOL (see baseball bat, hanging frog etc)
well, those are the differences compared to my office ;__;

e jump,
Yeah and especially in Japan, it's unusual for offices to have big-ass cubicles, isn't it?
That makes W+K office better indeed I guess. ^_^

Yup! Penn State has some of the greatest labs to work in on campus. I also enjoy the library and the dorm rooms- very snazzy and modern.
I also attempt to make my dorm room a nicer place to study and as snazzy as possible- being surrounded by (some) anime figures, my models, wallscrolls and TV for anime =D.
I would say our campuses facilities are more than adequate: There is a photo lab in the library installed with Photoshop, scanners, programs like that for photographers, and they also have Solidworks in that room- an engineering program I use. I can also print out anything I want in a respectable quantity for free (my tuition pays for it- if I want to print say, 500 pages, I could) and copies are on the cheap too. The library is a great resource- being connected to the main campus library as long as a book is in I can get it sent to our satellite campus. The labs are great too- we will be adding a new facility to house engineering activities (classes maybe?) and I believe we are going fully solar for all buildings by 2010 or 2011.

Are you allowed to keep pets in the apartments in Tokyo and where do the people find space to keep them?
I wonder if that Eye-Fi will work at places like internet cafés?
The "Week in Tokyo" articles are really interesting. I spend the most time on them going through each and every photo.

That eye-fi is nice Danny. Here we got cameras that shoot and send straight to a special external hard-drive. Of course you still gotta connect the external HD to the lappy/compy in the end.

...Ahem! Nice Tokyo Tour as always. And yummy food too. Btw Danny I love that room where you have your figures and computers, especially the window just next to the desk with kind of a panoramic view, That must be so cool to just be able to enjoy the nice view and relax when looking away from the computer's screen :)

Looks like I need to set up a bluetak import/export business. Do you have hedgehogs in Japan either, I'm sure the Japanese would go wildly kawaii over them (well until they see the fleas on them that is)!!!
