And check out the 1985 anime version below. See how animation back then pwns most of this winters seasons anime in terms of animation quality.

    One of my favorite cartoons of all time. That's actually a really good fan trailer. It just shows how much love there is for the property. It's probably better that Hollywood doesn't get its hands on Thundercats, though. Look at Dragonball and Chun-Li and you'll see why.

    I loved the Thundercats when I was younger. I remember spending weekday afternoons watching it with friends and then going out and mimicking Lion-O. I would glad contribute to the creation of this film, but if the original creator of this trailer were to use the same actors and actresses--it would cost an insane amount of money.

    To be fair, this 1985 opening is naturally higher quality than the rest of the half-hour episode. As a kid, I loved it! But when I tried watching again last year out of nostalgia, I couldn't finish 5 episodes, lol. I really tried. Nostaglic, true. But unexpectedly hard to watch again nowadays. Maybe I'll give it another shot. But if u haven't seen it since the 80's, maybe you'll think the same thing, hehe... >_<;

    Seen this a while ago. That doesn't mean it isn't good. That's some mad, mad editing skills. I'd donate to see if he could manage to make a full movie out of that. It would be interesting to see how much he knows the story. Would he include the New Thundara characters in a movie? Certainly Lion-O's father should make a cameo. Anyhow, I always thought that the Thundercats were too campy to make into a movie, but then again, they did Speed Race a while back, so I guess anything could happen.

    In animation circles, this animated opening sequence is legendary! I think some of the key staff even went on to work as key staff for Studio Ghibli. So good...

    I saw Thundercats on DVD at a friend's place a few years ago and while I was really impressed at the quality of the intro sequence, which looks like it was farmed out to Japan, I have to say the in-episode animation quality, especially mid-season, did not fare the test of time so well. In fact it looked like it had been farmed out to a home for quadriplegic, blind, Parkinson's sufferers.

    Still, a nice 懐かしい trip down memory lane.
