Happy New Year 2009

Its taking me ages to write up the lookback over 2008 so thought I'd post this first - photo taken a few mins after midnight at the shrine last night where thousands of other folks flocked to make their new year prayer.
Happy new year folks - hope you are having a good one!
My new years morning started off great - by being on the top page of BoingBoing again!

BTW, the way to greet folks in Japanese for the new year is "Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu" [明けましておめでとうございます].
