Toshiba Maids

Looks like Toshiba has jumped on the Maid bandwagon.
Their latest marketing efforts employ the services of three maids who appear at the door of a salary mans apartment to save him from his messy room.
Loled at one of the comments saying that this new Quie vacuum cleaner costs about 50,000 yen and that a salary man probably couldn't afford one anyway.

Another vid as part of their campaign. Very interesting layout for their channel too.

I'm not in a need of a vacuum cleaner right now so I wouldn't get one. The vacuum cleaner broke when we cleaned the living room in order to prepare for the Christmas tree and that's the 2nd time it happened with that timing in this family. It would appear that preparing for a Christmas tree is hard on vacuum cleaners because it's the only time they break O_O

This time however I was able to locate the problem and replace the broken wire. The first time it was a worn out in all the mechanical parts so it didn't make sense to fix it.

If I actually need to buy a vacuum cleaner I wouldn't care for commercials (I never care about them at all. They never work on me). I would likely investigate the marked and figure out which one would suit me the best, just like buying a camera or a computer.

I do wonder about one thing though. Is ¥50.000 really too much for a salary man?

If I could post pictures I would have posted a facepalm. If this kind of advertising works, I think Japan is slowly going to hell in a hand basket. I understand if putting pictures helps a rice company because there's barely any difference between them, but choosing electronics because of a maid they have? Come on Japan, you can do better than that.
