1/6 doll as your waifu

zephi spots some engagement rings in Akihabara - look closely to see the 1/6 scale ring for the doll and the 1/1 scale ring for the groom...

Original text from zephi below.

Walking around Akihabara yesterday and saw this for sale in a shop.
I can't read all the words, and don't have my handy dictionary with me.... But the sign there says something like... (someone else can give a better translation).
1/6 doll as your wife... engagement ring. one for you and one for the doll.
(notice the little ring in the center of the bigger ring?)

Speaking as someone who has an actual, female-type woman as a wife, I find the notion of someone wanting to marry a 1/6 doll (or any inanimate object for that matter) very sad. And quite creepy. Besides, she obviously can't cook.

you just gave me an idea for a prank/candid camera concept... maybe I need to work a bit on this one XD

I saw some candid camera once where they picked out a person on the street because they claimed to miss a witness for a wedding. Quite a lot of people would agree to be witness but then they married the witness to somebody and nearly nobody objected. The main argument for not objecting was "it was their happy moment so I didn't want to spoil it by talking when I wasn't supposed to do so" O_O
