Frequently Visited Sites

We've covered a load of topics at dccom but don't think we've covered the what-are-your-most-frequently-visited-sites topic. I ask because I've been spending the last few hours going though dccom usability data.
Here are a few observations that I can share with you now:-
- News Items get as many or more hits than Articles which was not the case before the...
1. Merge of the he Article and News Item RSS feed
2. Portal redesign
- About 25% of RSS feed readers actually click through to the site.
- Firefox users is at 60% while IE is at 22% (IE 6/7 combined). A note to IE users that I've turned some functionality off for IE due to CSS bugs. Firefox users get the full experience.
- The most popular page is the top index page and the second most popular page is the paginated news items for all members > http://www.dannychoo.com/basedir/mac/eng/image/category/everything/mirai/0000/00/0.html
- dannychoo.com has nearly a million pages indexed in Googles search index as of today (fluctuates)
- 30% of users come from search engine results. 30% is the norm as I observed when I worked at Amazon and Microsoft. If you have more than 30% of your users coming from search then I would advise to work with folks who run sites with content similar to yours. Users from those sites are more likely to be converted than a user from a search engine.
Relying too much on a search engine is bad - just imagine you got banned from Googles index for some reason. This recently happened to somebody I know...
-Hmmm. Just realized that I got more to share but would probably make sense to spread it out a bit.
As for the sites that I frequently visit include...
http://www.ted.com/
http://www.tuaw.com/
http://10be.blog.so-net.ne.jp/
http://knroom.blog102.fc2.com/
http://katejina.sblo.jp/
http://akibahobby.net/
http://www.akibaos.com/
http://blog.livedoor.jp/dqnplus/
http://www.smashingmagazine.com/
http://lifehacker.com/
http://www.foobarbaz.jp/
http://akibamap.info/
http://www.moeyo.com/
http://blog.livedoor.jp/geek/
And all sites registered at http://www.otaku.fm/
Do try to watch some videos on http://www.ted.com/- you will start to see life differently.
Have been thinking of merging News Items and Articles in a view similar to http://kotaku.com/ but not sure what you thought about that.
Would be great to learn what sites you frequently visit as it would help me with the usability design tweaks that I am planning now. It would help other members discover new content too.
Took this photo a few mins ago. Still need to style Saber-chans hair ^^;

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.
If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

I keep permanent Firefox tabs with Danny Choo and Sankaku Complex open...
Writing news posts for Sankaku requires me to check a fairly huge list of Japanese anime/figure related websites, so it's not really possible to make a full list here...
A few of the bigger ones are:
http://www.moeyo.com/
http://www.earlbox.com/
http://www.saiani.net/
I'm sure Artefact would like to see all the mentions of Sankaku here, thanks guys.

I would write down a list of site I go to daily, but it's kinda long and a lot it is in Chinese.
If people are really interested could ask me directly.
Any how, Saber is so huge!!! I would love to have it, but it's really too expensive for me.
I could be just me, but fate chan is in Saber Lily dress~ Saber is in fate "battle suit". (I properly got the name wrong.)
Also please take extra note with the size different between Figma Saber and Dollfie Saber.. I'm drooling so much that I can't continue typing this message.

I would rather you keep the articles and news items seperate, Danny. Though I read both, the articles tend to be longer and are different from the news, and I like it better when they're clearly seperateed this way.
I now have many nw sites to check out and i have already discovered some that will become my favorites in time i feel. Great idea Danny, this really opened up a lot of resources for anyone who takes the time to read all the comments.

While I used bot Opera and Firefox, something I love about Opera is the 'Speed Dial'. When you open a new tab or have a blank tab is shows 9 sites on speed dial buttons, you can just click and it will open in the tab, saves the trouble of going into your bookmarks or starting to type the url. A handy feature I like and have my daily sites programmed into.
The sites I frequently visit are:

There is a speed dial plugin for Firefox, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4810, which mimics the behavior of the Opera feature. I use it all the time and love it.
