Japan Camera

None of the official maker seem to make lens adapters for their digital cameras. These adapters are custom built for each model and Naojiro seems to have a ton of these for a load of different models. Will probably contact them soon for a fish-eye adapter. Some of these adapters are huge and look a bit crap though ^^;
I pretty much carry the 900 everywhere I go - you will notice I post random photos around Tokyo in the News Items section.
How often do you take photos?

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.
If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

Some of these look really sleek, and some of them look like 1920's technology. Can you imagine carrying some of these around? Maybe if I was in reconnaissance for he military. James Bond would be ashamed at some of these. I noticed its a pain to find stuff for digital cameras. I have a Canon.

Taking your camera everywhere is bound to get tiresome, but a great way to come up with topics. Sometimes you just see something and want to take a picture but don't have a camera, happens a few times for me but at least I have a phone camera for that lol.

IMHO,
I think simple pocket digicam are for easy and fast shots usage. and if you add on some plug-in like those into your digi cam wouldn't it be tiresome as if you were carrying a DSLR. might as well carry a real DSLR instead

That's a lot of artillery for a single impromptu shot.. any danger of being accused of a sniper when you're rigging up?

I carry my digital camera everywhere I go just in case. Thanks to the fact that it can capture video I've been able to catch my friends in funny situations.

Wow, those cameras are pretty intense. Carrying that stuff around would be really painful and require something like another bag.

You could beat someone to death with one of those. o.O
I personally don't take pictures much...all I have as a digital amera is my cell phone, which is 0.3 megapixels...incredibly low resolution. I don't know why they'd even bother putting such a crappy camera into a phone. Honestly, who would actually use a camera feature that creates pictures so indecipherable that everything just looks like a blurry blob of orange? >.>

to tell the truth.. the main purpose of having this type of digital camera is for portability.. if you were to bring sure big lens with you.. i would rather have a SLR with me..

Hardly even, even though I do have a semi-professional camera, a pocket cam, and a really old SLR.
Just recently I gave my pocket cam (a 5Mpx Canon) to my mother... she's a real state agent and has to take lots of pics from houses and apartments.
While I do have tons of photos from trips (a DVD filled with pics/videos from Japan, for instance), I don't really use the camera on a everyday basis...
But since my interest on writing, blogging and journalism is growing stronger everyday, maybe this will be changing really soon...

I have a 2MP camera on my phone but it's not much use for snapshooting unless I happen to have the phone switched on, which is rarely... normally I carry a Fuji E500 which is a reasonable pocket camera, with an equivalent 28mm lens. You can get wide angle and telephoto adapters for it, but these are hard to get in the UK. If I want to take good photos I carry my Nikon D50 and a couple of zooms.

Canon Power Shot plus Wide Lens is what I use. I do a bit of photojournalism every now and then, so I'll have stuff to write about in my blog.

There are times that I wish I had a small digital camera since carrying the DSLR can be a pain. I might buy myself one after Xmas.

Sony cybershot died on me earlier this year, so I have to lug the 350D around whenever i want to take pictures...
But once you start using an slr, you really don't feel like going back pocket cameras, no matter how convenient it is :(

Those pics are ace! I didnt realise how bulky and cumbersome some people are willing to make their cameras!
I dont take pics that often - only at events when i expect to take more pics.
I had a Canon powershot A710IS to replace the Cybershot that broke after a year and 10 days - damn sony timer!
Problem is, its pretty bulky and heavy, so i dont carry it around unless i have to. Never take it with me to clubs either. Thinking of EBaying it and getting an Ixus (or IXY as theyre know in Japan) instead as theyre much smaller. No full manual control, but i can live without that - never have time to fiddle with the settings when im out and about.

ugh. that looks pretty ugly - i would rather have an SLR cam then buy lenses & attach them on like that, not to mention the downside of making the cam a little more bulky.
If u really need a SLR cam that badly i suggest you shop n haggle around for one

DSLR's are heavier than compacts, with the lenses and everything they cost more, and when taking a pic with them you tend to be more pedantic about taking your pics. That said i don't think any compact camera could make me want to live without my dslr.
