Hector and I were invited to a private party held by YouTube called "YouTube Mix" a few hours ago in Omotesando.
There we had the opportunity to mingle and mix with a load of folk in the industry and listen to YouTube's up n coming promotion plans.
This first picture is of me with a wonky brow (because I dropped the helmet), Hector and the co-founder of YouTube - Steve Chen.

Another snap with Steve below. Listening to him talk about the early startup days at YouTube gave me that warm tingling feeling as I thought about my company Mirai Inc and how business is booming for me at the moment - the future is incredibly exciting. Look forward to sharing it with you.

Quite knackerd at the moment from the YouTube party and a session of video shooting of Tokyo Dance Trooper in Shibuya which is why I'm going to keep it short tonight.
Leaving you with some idols who were part of YouTube's promotions. More photos and video footage on this event from Hector and I probably tomorrow night.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

    The last pic is like heaven. Lucky you Danny. The first pic was pretty funny, who could ever imagine a stormtrooper gettin the bunny ears treatment.

    I didn't at first like Youtube because you couldn't download videos that you liked and then you had to sign up so you could watch some age restriced things. I caved in this year, signed up and started uploading videos myself. Of course it helps that you can download vids now too :)

    I have quite a few self-taken videos i would like to upload to youtube, but it said i cant upload anything bigger than 250mb, which put me off.
    My camera records pretty good quality video at 640 X 480, so most videos over a minute or so come to more than 200mb. I cant be arsed to re-compress them in Premier or something before youtubing them!

    I think youtube is great for viewing though - i just cant stand some of the absolute idiots who always argue and abuse people in the comments section. I wish they were moderated or at the least, swear/ racist term filtered.

    Nice to see you hanging with the big lads. Do they actually converse with you on a 'Danny Choo' level, or do they just invite you for the Stormtrooper novelty?..... >_

    Like some people already said... the size limit is a bummer.
    Not that I have that much stuff to publish anyways. I must have 2 videos on video sharing websites.

    One of them is a rant against our government policies on air traffic, right after we had a major accident involving almost 200 deaths (a year after another accident that had another 160 deaths).

    The other one was my first try on video editing software mixing videos and photos me and some friends did on an Anime event here in Brazil.

    Problem was: both had more than 10 minutes, and one of them had more than the size limit... so I couldn't post them on YouTube.

    I also did a research on some 10 different video sharing websites, and at the time I did, Veoh, Metacafe and Vimeo were the best ones.

    It's all in my personal and abandoned blog... but in brazilian portuguese.

    I worked for a company that did internet BROADCASTing that was bought by, lets say comapany Y, and in the fall of 2003 a coworker and myself had this idea. We can take our current platform that we use to create and serve video content for companies and turn it over to the public to upload their videos and make their own broadcasts over the internet. But Company Y decided that no one would upload their videos,it would just take to long and who would besides them would want to look at them. So it was shot down like so many things that came from the bottom up in company Y. Oh well if company Y had ran with it, it would not have marketed correctly and would have been shutdown a few months after launching. But like everything else now theY are playing catchup and what happened to us. The moral of the story is if you have an idea run with it yourself, you might just have the next ebay, youtube, or who knows. Danny best of luck with Mirar Inc.

    That is awesome. I wish I could meet him, I'd have a lot to talk about.

    Bele,
    Only Steve showed up this time.

    Akiraman,
    Idols were certainly part of the promotions. YT is much bugger than Nico.

    w1ld0n3,
    Thanks ^^

    Andy,
    They invited Danny ^^;
    I chose to show up in armor as civilian clothing is boring ^^;
