Japanese Browsers

I wonder if this is an indicator of how many Japanese browser users use Firefox or other alternative browsers like Opera versus default IE or something based on the poll of their homepage content or not? i.e.> by looking at amount who claim to use opensourced browser homepages as their startpage for the number of users or lack thereof rather who commented as having firefox or opera portal or startpage as their browser home page or were some or many of those Google user actually firefox users who landed on Google page as homepage by default of use of Firefox perhaps?

All my browsers starts with a blank page, then I will usually go to your page or rofl.to to start my day.

I have google as mine because its super quick to load. I still get the freezing thing with your site (guess i should upgrade to FF) and facebook, although i visit it a lot, can be very slow sometimes.

Mine's Yahoo since my main e-mail account is there. That account's been a constant for me the past near 10 years. So, yeah, I kinda feel naked without it being my home page.

I have FireFox open three tabs:
1) iGoogle homepage full of Google widgets
2) Google RSS Reader
3) IGN.com - for my game stuff.

Ever since I found the feature, my browser automatically loads what was on it last so whatever tabs I had opened (which I massed closed before) just pop back up when I go on it again =P

If I didn't have this, I would probably have mu iGoogle page up...

i still choose between the two: msn and yahoo portal page.

I have the US firefox google search engine. I choose it as my homepage because it doesn't load anything like news or the latest fashion tips for my pets as I don't need that when I first start up my browser.

i uses both internet explorer and firefox.

for IE, my default homepage is google.com

for firefox, it's www.blizzard.com the gaming company behind games like the diablo series, starcraft and warcraft series. i'm a big fan of blizzard games. have been using their website as my default homepage for years.

Both my IE and FireFox are set to "blank", then I just click the corresponding tabs... DannyChoo.com being the first tab I always click on ;D

The reason I have it blank is because... well, the browser loads faster hehe.

I use MSN because they usually post things about cars on there.. and links to Msnbc.com. I think my laptop has aol.com as the default. I will have to change that crap.

iGoogle- with Gmail widget, Google Reader rss feeds, weather- it takes longer to load but I like looking at the cute pictures and what blogs have been updated. Wish you could customise more though.

i have opera in both of my machines so i've disabled the homepage. but otherwize it would be google :)

exactly the same as oliphant. I have iGoogle with Gmail widget, tones of rss feeds, and other more or less useful widgets like weather, calendar, world sunlight map (funny stuff), currency converter (completely useful haha).

I keep amazon as my homepage, since they always recommend new stuff to me when I start browsing. =)

I've set mine on Hongfire (I tend to visit the forums on Hongfire and here pretty much everyday) for Firefox and Google on Opera, both is dependent on where I am actually. Opera when I'm in school and Firefox when I'm home.

Default firefox homepage for me. Mainly because I can't be bothered to change it. If i did, i'd probably have 3 load up automatically

Gmail for me. Every time I fire up my browser, I get straight into my mail box because I get a lot of email.

After that, it's mashing the Usuals tab and all the other sites start loading.

I used to have yahoo as my homepage so I could see some quick news/check my mail, until they killed it, now I just use my del.icio.us bookmarks.

Well, my homepage is blank :) but I am using session with my browser i.e. after close the browser remember the sites which were open and at start open them again :) It saves me time

I have Google as my homepage. For some reason, I don't have many favorites or tabs. I just type in "hotmail", "gmail" or "yahoo" for my email and "Dannychoo" for this site. Is this ok? ;p

I have google as my homepage in IE, and blank in firefox. :D I like my browser to load up fast when I first open them that's why I avoid pages that takes time to load.

Well on Firefox: I have the Firefox themed google page set as my homepage. While on Iexplorer it is Yahoo!

I used to have Yahoo! as the default but I changed it to Google, since Yahoo had fancy bulky renovation which made browser to start up slower. Also I hate when yahoo automatically snaps my cursor to search field while I'm trying to type something on address bar (Especially with Safari).

i use wikipedia since it allows me to search things faster and + making tabs makes me search multiple things faster without lag

i keep my homepage to the blank page so i can go to any site i want, also it starts the browser fastest. however, i tend to keep the tabs and windows open for later reference and being ff, soon enough i'll have too much open and need to restaart the session from random errors...too much mem occupied

My Firefox default is set to http://wiki.theppn.org/Main_Page. There are times when this site is offline though. :(

Blank page here, could set up 4-5 tabs to open every time I start "fresh" session though as there are a couple pages I have always open.

Safari is my default browser and I have it set to just open a blank page, I don't like having it spend time to load a page because it slows down moving to other sites and opening other tabs.
I find it kind of funny that the top two homepage setups are pages I never visit, since I use the google search bar or Quicksilver to initiate all my searches and never found a use for portal sites.

Still has my FF on default when i open it (Firefox Google Search).
Too lazy to replace it actually and also i tend to use google too much.

I have my homepages set up to be two forums I go to a lot and one blog I keep track of. Sorry, its not this one. This one is a little to big so it would take longer for my browser to start up (it sort of freezes up for a few seconds.) I do have a link to this blog on the bookmark toolbar (Im using lolifox, based on firefox.)

Since I'm at school, the home page is my school district' website, but when i'm up at my aunt's, I have the Megatokyo webcomic as my homepage, and I have Dannychoo, CNN, and NHK World.

I have Google as my home page. Partially because it's convenient, but it's partially because my internet at home is rather sporadic. If I open the browser up and some other site doesn't come up, I can't tell if it's them or me. But if Google doesn't come up, I know the problem's on my end. If Google goes down of its own accord, the world's ending. XD

A little while back I tried using the personalized variant of Google for my homepage, but it loaded too slow and I didn't have anything very important to display there either. I also have been considering setting a black page as my homepage to speed up opening the browser.

My homepage is Yahoo, it has decent news coverage and I love using its different functions (for example, using "Answers" to find solutions to obscure questions)... that and I'm use to the layout, so its partially out of old habit. >_<

This is my homepage of course. That way there's always something interesting and awesome when I open the interweb.

a lot of computers are set to have yahoo and msn as default, and people probably don't know how to change it. I know a lot of people who aren't so good with computers that have msn in particular as default ~

I have the firefox google search beacuse it's faster to load, but I think in Japan you don't have provlems with the conection speed. I wish some day we have conexions like that.
