Japanese Ghosts

Shinrei Shashin [心霊写真] is a phrase used to describe photos where ghosts or spirits decide to show all or part of themselves when a photo is taken.

Ghosts/spirits show up for many reasons including hate for the person having their photo taken, expressions of distress, hate, jealousy etc etc.

Have no idea why I decided to write about this subject but I hope its not because I unconsciously saw one. Have not seen any ghosts in my lifetime and don't particularly want to until I'm dead - unless the ghost looks like a nice 2D eroge character.

Shinrei Shashin is a popular subject on Japanese TV and here are a few programs that I dugg up on YouTube which go through a few Shinrei Shashin. Some of these photos were taken 25 years ago before Photo Shops time - you decide whether you think they are real. You may want to get some company before watching these alone.

BTW, the image in this post above shows a phenomenon called Yutai Ridatsu [幽体離脱] where a spirit tries to leave the body - notice how half of her body is missing.
