Japan Typhoon

A huge typhoon hit Japan yesterday but I really had that strange urge for a McDonalds so went out to brave the wind n rain. If you are planning trips to Japan then avoid the Tsuyuu (梅雨) rainy season in June and the Typhoon season in September (unless you like being blown about in the wind.)

While I'm here, I might as well talk about the most recent changes to the site ^^;
I get much feedback from many of you saying that you like to see daily life in Japan. Now that I have this handy tool up n running, I will be posting simple daily-life-in-Tokyo type snaps that I take around the city or when I go to get some grub. If you want to keep an eye on these photos then subscribe to my news feed or keep an eye on the left column. You may have noticed that I rolled out my news items to the blog post pages too.

This rainy McDonalds picture has been posted here.

I seem to be getting more and more clients and business contacts from people who come across my profile page so I thought it was time to update it - you can see it here. I tried to organize the information on that page so that one could quickly gain an understanding of what this site was about and who I was. Let me know if you find it confusing.

Also pooled previous posts on blogging and making money through affiliating in the Blogging & Affiliate tips category - bloggers or folks thinking of setting up a blog may be interested.
I have also pooled all the posts covering features of this site into the Nav2.0 pool where you can learn more about the following features that are (sometimes) hidden in this site including...

  • Otaku Links - user submitted otaku related links. Link located in the subnav under the header.
  • Otaku Videos - user submitted videos. You will find anime, idols, eroge ops and other crazy stuff in there. Available from the "video" tab in the left column of the top index page or blog post page.
  • Ranking Charts - keep your eye on the top selling anime, figures, gundams, idol DVDs, eroge, games etc. All charts are updated every 24 hours. Link available from the "Anime, Ranking & Release Calendar" banner in the header.
  • Release Calendar - user generated calendar. Make your own calendar of anime, gundam, figure, eroge, game, and events. If you cant be bothered then just use the calendar that other users have generated.
  • RSS Fusion - keep your eye on the latest anime, japan news etc in this beta aggregator. The real aggregator however is at Antenna.
  • Featured Feeds - Instantly generate traffic for your site through this feature.
  • DC Rewards - potential to make pocket money just like James through this program.
  • Puchi Blurbs - Let other otaku know what you are up to and/or cry for help.
  • Profile Page EX - customize your profile page with links, videos, your RSS feed, Flickr photos and add Amazon products to make money.
Expect to see more significant changes before the end of year.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Japan category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

    You're quite the photog, from what I've seen on your site. Incidentally, I like the picture you have at the top of the post, but the larger version in the link doesn't work. Any chance on getting a larger version suitable for saving? ^^;

    Singapore has rain and wind that sometimes rival that of a small scale typhoon during the monsoon seasons

    Late post but...
    We have hurricanes (same thing just less powerful) here in the Atlantic basin.
    I live on the Gulf Coast and most places are evacuated by the national guard. I don't usually leave the area, but I also don't leave my house. Search for hurricanes Ivan and Katrina.

    I love the photo's you have posted. Many of them are quite interesting as to the life of the people of Japan or Nippon. I was thinking is there going to be any space left on the Islands in a few more years as things look very crowded and the people are showing it with there behavior. I see so many of the young acting out finding some way to take there minds off all that going on in there world or do you out there see things different? Many nice ways to take there minds off of their hurried life. But what will in your opinion life be like in the next decade?

    21st September 1998: Hurricane Georges was the most recent hurricane to rip apart Puerto Rico, with winds reaching 175km/h, it did the same damage as Hurricane San Felipe in 1928, as the most dangerous and strongest hurricanes in 70 years of my native island. The eye entered in Humacao in the noon, and at 17h45, it passed through Hormigueros
