"36 error when syncing iPod in iTunes" - I was seeing this message of death when trying to sync or do anything with my iPod one weekend. I tried reformatting and installing the iPod software to no avail either. I then came across this document at Apple and after trying out a few things I pinpointed the trouble down to the lousy USB-IRL08 retractable cable by Elecom - those bastards - products like this should not be allowed on the market, so here goes with my SEO attempt - will make sure I post this in Japanese too.
