Now thats what I call dedication - from Idol otaku blog wotakunow.
So, what otaku is you mainly being?
I started off being a game otaku and then adding japan, idol, anime, mecha and 2D girls over time.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Otaku category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

2D for me. All of the things I love are related to 2D (and 3D), whether it's bishojo figures, anime with predominately female leads (e.g., Clannad, Ikki Tousen, Da Capo, To Love-Ru, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, etc.), Hello! Project idols, etc. And no, I don't need a girlfriend... unless I meet a cute cosplayer, that is. haha :P

I suppose I'm mostly an anime otaku (but I am really REALLY into 2D girls). Was torn on what to check. Most of the animes I like have really cute girls.

But, I am also a Japan otaku. Most of the time, I am out in Japan taking walks while snapping photos. Though I do the same thing in other ports too when I can (only Vietnam and Cambodia so far).

I started off with Pokemon and games and any anime that was shown on terrestrial that I could watch(Beyblade, Cardcaptors, Digimon etc). And then it evolved into more in 2003, to include more esseteric manga and anime. Tokyopop stuff. I evolved again last year, when I got wireless broadband, that let me download fansubs for the first time. And in october when I got a job I could buy bigger pvc figures. I'm a full blown otaku of Japanese things. Anime, manga, games, mascots, the place itself, the music etc etc. The Majority of my obsession is anime/manga though. Games are secondary, cos I have hardly any time for them... (I'm making time for Clannad.....)

Right now... I am more of an Anime Otaku. Growing up, though, I was something else. Plus, as we speak, I am finding myself becoming a Manga Otaku since I am finding myself either buying or wanting to buy certain Japanese manga titles as well as their English counterparts.

And FYI, I blame The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (the manga) for starting this trend for me. :P

I jump around a lot. It depends on how much time I have to focus on a specific area of fandom, how much progress Im making in a game, and a lot of things.

I jump between anime otaku, game otaku, figure otaku (though with a tight budget), computer otaku, 2D otaku, mecha otaku, and Japan otaku.

Im all of those at once (and much more!) but my main otakuhood changes between anime and game depending on how much time I have to devote to watching anime on my computer in a given week. :D

I also have some singers I listen to but I dont consider myself an idol otaku since I dont follow their public appearances or hunt of images. :D
