Dollfie Saber

Only one thing stopping me from taking up dolling (is that the right word for a doll collector?) - the price. This gorgeous Dollfie Saber will cost 99,750 yen from Volks. But it looks like pre-orders are already finished so expect to pay even more for her at auction sites.
See many more pics at Sankaku Complex.

Update: Noticed that Henry posted this at the same time - sorry for eating your post.

Naw, dolfie's are okay for a hobby but yeah, the pricing is outrageous. You have to be a hardcore collector to be careless about the prices.

I agree. This Saber is the cutest doll I've seen and I'd love to have her, but no way at that price. I'm going broke buying figures anyway.

I would get me a 1/4th scale than a full size. Probably easier to change clothing too and cheaper.
Me room is already full of stuff, I barely have room for me. I would be scary to see the full size Excalibur in my room at night. If i were to get a sword, it would be real, not plastic and would pay the full price then.

That Saber isn't the full size paper moon one. This on is roughly 1/3 scale (56-60cm tall) and is produced by Volks.

That Saber looks pretty nice. But if I ever got a Dollfie Dream, I'd probably get an unfinished doll and make her up as I go along. As far as 'dolling' goes, I'm already in deep, lol. I used to just have 1/6th stuff, but I ordered a 1/3rd resin doll head I've always wanted recently. It alone was a lot of money, hahaha. Will be quite a while till I can buy the body, but the head was limited so I figured... buy it now or never see it again, ya know? XD

That's Volks Dollfie Dream Saber *grabby hands* The reason she costs so much is because of how detailed her outfit is. She comes with underwear, the full dress and petticoats, her sword and full armor. She comes with much more then other dollfie dreams. Most dollfie dreams only cost in the region of 50,000 - 60,000 yen.

Saber was never for pre order, the only way to get any of the limited Dollfie Dreams from Volks is to attend their Dollpa Events and buy them there. All the limited anime and game Dollfie Dreams are limited editions and are only sold at Dollpa events. If on the rare occasion all the dollfie dreams do not sell at the dollpa, then any leftover go up for sale on the Volks international site, but from there they usually sell out very quickly.

I know they do seem expensive, but if you did want to get a dollfie dream I would recommend one. I have one and I love her she's great. Also if you get a limited dollfie dream, then it will probably increase in Value. I have the Yashiro Kasumi Dollfie dream and I brought her for about £300 and one recently sold at Yahoo Japan for over £500. So if I wanted to sell her, I'd get my money back and then some!

It's a shameless plug, buuut, I have an article all about Dollfie Dream's on my blog, including a list and links to every Dollfie Dream released to date including all limiteds. You can find it here if you want more info on them: http://aquilla429.wordpress.com/all-about-dollfie-dreams/

OMG, I just got some great Saber Dollfie Dream news!!! Volks are releasing her again at Dollpa 20 in December and this time her price is just 52,000 yen. Much lower then the previous Saber.

This time she has different eye colour, she is going to be white skin (its not paper white, its a lovely soft creamy white) and she come's with different outfit options.

If I get a job I'm going to try nab her off Yahoo Japan for sure this time.

They aren't considered dolls because they don't wear cloth clothes, and they have molded hair instead of rooted hair or wigs. At least for me, that's the difference between an action figure and a doll. But the line does blur quite a bit, especially if the product has molded hair but wears cloth clothes.

I want one~ but there are only certain doll companies I'd get one from. I actually find most of them creepy, apart from the select few I've bookmarked.

While Saber looks gorgeous, I'd rather get an original design, whether a limited edition or regular it would depend. But I'm sure Saber fans would obviously appreciate this one a lot more than I would anyways :3

Wow, are these dolls of the Rozen Madien series? Would have thought so for that price. I couldn't justify paying that much unless they are going to come to life. ^_^

    But, if I see this Saber in Akihabara for $500 or less. I will be tempted. I've already bought embarrassing things before and this doll looks incredible. ^_^;

I used to collect Pullips, but I only had one, and stopped because their heads were just so big for their bodies that they became floppy. I would love a Super Dollfie though, this one of Saber is gorgeous.

I use poseable figures to help with my art, but even those don't cost all that much. I couldn't justify that expense to myself, as nice as it is. If I had $1000 kicking around, I'd save it and add to it for eventual purchase needs- like an Apple laptop or such.

I'm just not rich enough for fandom, I guess.

(Not considering eBay an option because there's still a limit even for me ^^) I don't have any figures and there's just a few I would consider buying but that doll just has a different feeling to it... Wouldn't have to start collecting dolls or anything but man, 1/3 scale Saber standing somewhere in my apartment would be awesome :)
