Japan and Golf

Folks who live or have visited Japan may occasionally see people in public pretending to play golf while waiting for a train or bus. They either swing their arms, mobile phone or in some cases wet umbrellas.
This poster on the subway asks folks to "do it in the yard." Most Japanese don't have a yard though.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

A poster serves as kind reminder to where you are and what you should be doing. We should have lot of those here in NYC.

In Los Angeles, we have a lot of Korean-Americans who love the game of golf. Even when there is a post-season for sports such as basketball, baseball or football, the Koreans have a game of golf on TV.

I've never gone golfing (unless you count miniature golf) so I wouldn't do anything like that. Well even if I did, I still wouldn't do that. I don't see the point of doing it. I would assume the point is to see if their form is good which would be difficult to do if there's no actual ball to hit.
