Went to see it back in April at the TOHO Cinemas in Osaka, it was really great! Takashi Miike did a great job for all Yattaman fans. Favourite Japanese movie of all time? Hard to pick just one, but probably "Hana-bi" by Takeshi Kitano.
Depends on what you mean by vivid. A good exposure + correct color balance usually makes the shot (along with any needed adjustment in post). And a fast lens and a sensor that handles well low light situations might help as well.
