You're lucky the mess wasn't any worse!! I'm surprised. Even a smaller earthquake in Japan made my figurines fall all over the place ... and on top of my head while I slept ;_;
Some of these costumes are so detailed and amazing. The makeup and hairstyling on some are impressive as well. I never thought Id say I like cosplay from outside Asia, but i've been proven wrong! :) My faith has been restored in Western cosplay. I es...
I don't know the statistics but there are a lot of French speaking people outside of France/Europe that are also very interested in Japanese culture. I'm aware most of you know that, but I just thought I'd represent a little bit, since I'm francophon...
I was recently telling my grade 6 class (In Canada) about how kids in Japan traveled to school alone... It's also something I was very surprised by when I first arrived in Japan.
I didn't have an emergency earthquake bag until my first earthquake experience knocked a bunch of my stuff over in the middle of the night and scared me half to death. Needless to say, a bag was packed the very next day.
Congratulations on escaping the English Teaching trap. I'm always happy to see foreigners breaking out of it. I recently left Japan after teaching English there, because I was tired of the job... I loved Japan and hope to return one day.
I spent most of my life in the country which is why I don't appreciate it very much, I think. I do like getting out and seeing some countryside scenery but I find myself wanted to get back to the city very quickly.

I miss the Japan trains so much! In Toronto what bothers me the most is how people don't wait for you to get off the train, to try and get on... collisions! ugh.
Some of my fonder memories of Japan are at Matsuri in japan :) My favorite was a small one in a town called Hashimoto just outside of Tokyo somewhere in Kanagawa. Some of my fonder memories are from the allnighters that went on after the matsuri :D
As sad as it is that I wasn't able to see it, the cost of maintenance would be too high to keep it up... winter, typhoons, etc. There isn't much profit in it to cover such costs by just having it stand around outside for free either right? It only ma...
probably by looping them through the bands of the other ones already attached since you can only attach 1 maybe 2 through the ring on the phone itself.
it's not really popular in Canada, I got looked at strangely when I came home from Japan with a giant Cheshire cat tail on my phone. Also I bought a bunch for friends/family and about 80% thought they were weird key chains, not something youd put on...
I'm definitely not a fan of the yearly medical check up in Japan D: I wish I would have had this guide to read before I went in for it the first time ... I was like a deer caught in headlights the whole time O____O
