I had the same problem as yours, I just use a very sharp pencil and made the hole a little bigger so the thing could fit in at ease. Not to mention I broke the circular hole thingy on her vest by accident -_-

Got mine from Ikea as well(in my region that is), it's cheap for that kind of size. Though I've kinda ran out of space in my cabinet and I've left my extras on display on my table. ~_~
