Hmm... how come some of those pictures look so vivid? I have a digital SLR and I can never night shots that look like that. Is it the quality of the camera or is it the skill of the operator?

Actually they're really not all that durable. They fall apart easily in the wind. I bought one from Lawson's and it lasted me about 2 minutes and 25 seconds before it was destroyed by the wind as I was heading out :'(. Sad sad Japan experiences.
