When I was young, I didn't get any pocket money. I did get money for finishing chores however. When/if I have kids, I don't believe I'll be giving them a regular allowance.
No, I completely understand where you're coming from. If the other 2 figures weren't so nice, I'd avoid the set altogether. However, the completionist in it just wouldn't settle for getting 2 out of 3.
