I can only imagine what it would be like to MC for Aki-P. I'm extremely jealous right now. Danny, any chances of getting together with Kadosawa and doing an Idoling!!! event?
Thanks for the very helpful post, Danny! I'm actually leaving for Japan in about a week, and I was planning on taking the Keisei Skyliner to Nippori and then Nippori to Ikebukuro. Your post helped reinforce that this is the better way of travel. I...
I've been reading dannychoo.com everyday for quite awhile now (since before I made this account). I originally started when I was interested in Gunpla and life in Japan. Since then, I've observed quite a few changes in the site - some good and some...
I'll be going on day 3. It'll be my first Comiket ever, so I'm pretty excited. Anyone know where, in Tokyo, I could purchase the catalog? I'll be arriving in Tokyo mid-day on day 2, so it would be nice if I could get a catalog around when I arrive...
I tend to keep my boxes until I get bored of them and/or don't need them anymore.
For your friend's MacBook, here's a link on how to replace the screen.

I go back and forth on this one. I only recently started reading manga, but I've been watching anime for a LONG time. Sometimes, I feel like a certain scene was spoiled, but I have noticed the manga is usually better (and this is coming from a die-...
I've been watching for awhile. It's not bad, but the CGI is pretty haggard. Also, they go a bit overboard on breast size (which is a huge issue for a loli anime fan such as myself). It's no Darker Than Black like you suggest, but so far, the story...
We really don't have small food vendors on street corners where I live. Instead, we just have restaurants to eat out at. During "dinner time" the queues can get up to about an hour or two depending on the establishment.
I find the weather reports around me are fairly accurate. Most people don't seem to use umbrellas, either. In FL, when it rains, it can be pouring in one area, and yet 50 ft away (~15 meters), it is perfectly dry. Usually it starts and stops very...
For those wanting to install OS X on an x86 machine (aka PC), go here:

As far as the WINE comment, WINE and Parallels are about the same compatibility wise, with Bootcamp being more compatible than both due to native bo...
I installed Leopard before it was released (GM), and I LOVE it. Spaces and Stacks are more useful than I would have ever imagined. The updated networking feature is even more surprising. It's also faster for me. The only problem I'm finding is th...
Gas is currently $3.11/gallon here for 93 octane (highest octane at most places). I say 93 since my car requires it...unless I want to retard the timing by 10º and lose some HP that is. I think it's like $2.7x/gallon for regular 87. It's expensive...

No clue if you're still monitoring this post since it's a bit old, but regarding your word inquiry. Yes, Word 2004 is confirmed to work with 10.5. My friend said when he first launched it, nothing happened. However, it seemed to work ev...
Being part of the medical community myself (one sister being a doctor, other sister being a nurse, my mom being a nurse and with me moving towards a B.S.N.), I've pretty much experienced everything. However, for the most part, doctors seem to be gre...
@ kenshiro
Yes, this is very true. However, I was referring mainly to the small suburban area where I live.
African-Americans/Blacks (some people get offended when you call them one or the other so I'll just list them as one entity ^^;) are pret...
There's very little racism around here. It's really only be prominent in the big cities like Miami and Jacksonville. Even then, if there were an issue like you're experiencing, the ACLU and Govt. would get involved.
Assuming you have the install disk(s) and the serial number, you should be able to reinstall it. The only issue that could possibly occur would be if it's not compatible with 10.5. I can't say for sure, but I don't think it will be an issue.
@ Ryori no tetsujin
Parallels, Inc. claims full compatibility with the upcoming 10.5 Leopard OS, so it should be perfectly fine. If you're worried about how certain things will act, you can always install the OS on a different hard drive (an iPod w...

Yes, it will erase every single thing you have on your hard drive. It'll be like having an entirely new computer. If you just want to replace the system, but still keep your programs like Microsoft Office, there is an option in the "Opti...
@ Ki Moon
If you want a 100% clean install of OS X, when you boot from the DVD, select what drive you want OS X to be on and click on "Options..." on the bottom left of the window. Inside will be an option to "Erase and Install." Click that and cl...
I'm a big 声優ヲタク so I actually know quite a few 声優 names, as well as their roles. I started getting into them when I realized how much better they were then the American counterparts.
How can a quasi-FreeBSD with a Mach kernel and a NeXTish GUI-based OS lack functionality, even for the hardcore Ubuntu users? The BSD isn't there just to look pretty.... What are you using your Ubuntu machine for? If you'd like, I can show you how...
I really want the stacks feature, but more importantly, the multiple desktop feature. That'll help cut down on a lot of open windows and filled docks. I never actually buy my OSes though, if you know what I mean. ^^;
More awesomeness from Japan. To be honest though, all these "fetish" posts aren't even scratching the surface of what lies deep within the Japanese Fetish community over there. Some of the stuff way over the top and not suited for this blog....
