Atari 2600 here. No game system was a true leap forward until the iPhone. Now with iPhones and iPads, there is no reason to be enslaved by a plastic box dumbly wired to a teevee.
Most people I know adapt their animals from homeless pet shelters. Pet stores in the U.S. generally don't display/sell cats and dogs. Shelters usually have a fee which is more of a donation. $25 to $75.
Uh... The Millennium Bridge was built in the late 90s and opened in 2000. That's why it's called the 'Millennium' Bridge. The first time I saw it was in 'Bridget Jones's Diary, from 2001. Then 'Love Actually' in 2003 and many other newer UK films.
You don't sound too keen on the UK. I spent the better part of a week in London a couple of years ago and I can tell you that it was more interesting, culture-wise, than 99% of the United States. As America backslides politically and culturally, the...
Been there in London. No stormtroopers that I recall. We don't have a Chinatown in Atlanta (because it's a featureless corporate bubble), but we do have a melting pot Asian area. There is an excellent vegetarian Chinese restaurant that my wife and I...
Danny, be careful with the power inverter. They have limits. Read the instructions and power capabilities carefully. Also read online, other people's real live experiences with the model you got. I have one that I use with my 17-inch MacBook Pro...
'so the chances of becoming a millionaire are much higher if you get them from here' Nope. Doesn't matter where you buy a lottery ticket. Lotteries are a tax on the math deficient.
When we were in London a couple of years ago, the amount of pre-packaged healthy fresh foods amazed the heck out of us. Jamie Oliver made a Big difference in Britain. They leapfrogged us here in the U.S. healthy-food-wise.
We never, ever use poisons inside our home. We treat the outside perimeter and rarely see a single insect inside. Additionally, nothing will keep flying insects out of your home.
Danny, my wife and I have had iPhone 4s since day one over here (46 days). We have not had a single dropped call, in fact our network connectivity has been faster than ever and rock solid. I got a Bumper on day one, but my wife just now got a case. E...
Yes. Sometimes when switching from one sound source or one song to another, the main speakers on the MBP will cut out leaving only the BassJump. If you stop the media playing and restart it, it will usually fix itself. Dunno why.
Additionally, you're going to get tired of looking down. I basically have the same setup as you had before. Takes seconds to take it off the stand and take the MBP elsewhere. You will miss having that MBP on a stand.
For all the reputation of 'bad English food,' my wife and I found an amazing selection of healthy ready made foods in Tesco, Marks & Spencer, and elsewhere. A lot of vegetarian food. We loved it when we were there a couple of years ago. But Paris...
My wife and I spent two weeks in Paris in 2008. Take a Lot of photos. Take your time. Take a lot of long meals in one of the many, many sidewalk cafes. The sidewalk is the greatest theatre of Paris. Paris is the greatest city in the world.
Apple is projected to sell anywhere between one and five million this year. Never bet against Apple. Want a Kindle, cheap? Check eBay in a couple of months.
Kikkoman makes a ponzu sauce which we keep on hand all the time. The ingredients basically read like soy sauce plus citrus. Dunno what fresh ponzu is like, but the bottled stuff is quite tasty.
