I just watched the fansub BD version. Battle scenes were way cool although the scenes with the RX-0 were rather minimal. Lets hope for more in the next episode. The characters were not well fleshed out well though IMHO and the plot development feels...
Strange that they threw your package into your house's grounds. I've had several instances when no one was home when the postman came with my SAL packages. They simply left a note and I collected my stuff from the post office during the weekend.
HLJ and Play-Asia are my favored online stores to buy from. HLJ's appeal basically comes from its SAL shipping option. But with the weakening of the Malaysian Ringgit against the Yen lately, I've been putting off some purchases with HLJ. I've never h...
I used to build one or two each month. Lately, I don't seem to be making any significant progress. My unopened boxes are piling up, no thanks to the wonderful sales at the recent BAKUC event!
Malaysian customs seem to be more concerned about printed materials. I recently bought a Dengeki Hobby magazine which had its figure section heavily censored with a black marker.
Haven't hired a moving company before although I foresee that I will be moving out in a year or two when I finally get around to buying my own house ... and getting more space for my figure/gunpla collection ;)
From what I hear from friends, most mo...
This is an awe-inspiring collection! How do you normally display your collection?
I'd need to double my salary and buy a large house if I wanted to have such a collection. You must spend an awful lot of time dusting/cleaning your entire collection.
I go for the looks but I do tend to prefer buying figures of characters I know. However, I've also ended up watching the entire OVA or series of a figure that caught my eye (eg Shining Tears/Wind, Escalayer, Fauna, etc). After watching the anime, I'l...
I concur. My policy is never buy non-anime figures ... unless they are soooo very cool and reasonably priced (need to take down that 19,800 yen price tag by two-thirds).
On working days, I visit the site once after work. On weekends and holidays, I usually visit it twice or thrice depending on my activities for the day.
This is a great site with a great community.
I got a few nendoroids but I still prefer the regular scaled figures. For a diminutive PVC item which can't stay upright without its stand, I find the price tag for nendoroids a little discouraging. I still love my Hatsune Miku though!!! Kawaii!!!
I think she still looks cute. I don't have a problem with her mouth. I really do wish for a Lala figure in my collection. My wallet is just too dry at the moment.
I'm starting to be surrounded by figures in my room currently as I run out of shelf space. My gunpla and figures just grab whatever nook and cranny available in my room. My 24" Dell LCD is all the display I need :)
I keep my figures in various locations - a glass cabinet the size of 2 Ikea detolfs, a few shelves on my bookcase and parts of my desk and computer table. I'm starting to run outta space. Hopefully, this will reign in my Gunpla and figure spending.
I've been working on my Gundam Unicorn for nearly a month now. Got 9 kits unopened in backlog (3 of them MGs). Hmmm, #2,4,5 applies to me I guess. Work eats up my time, causing motivation loss to build Gunpla :( Sites like dannychoo.com also seem to...
My love for figures started with Danny's review of the Max Factory Kureha last year. Although I failed to acquire one for myself despite searching thoroughly for months, I just recently found and bought one at a rather hefty premium price. No regrets...
I'm born and bred in Penang, Malaysia :) Bargaining is part of our everyday culture although you can't bargain at malls with fixed pricing.
Getting a good price in Penang sometimes doesn't require much bargaining. Some sellers really offer dirt chea...
I'm pretty ok with speaking in front of people. I've become quite used to delivering presentations to my company's senior executives. All thanks to the training and support I got from the Toastmasters program. Anyone wanting to overcome their fear of...
Is that really someone's personal room or actually a shop (although I've never seen even an anime/hobby shop with so many figures crammed in one space)?
