You probably came across, or will, a person hired in big companies that takes care of things like this; organizes cables in offices etc. Integrating things is really a challenge.
This is really time saving. I have many HDs withdata on, and taking on and off is tedious. There are HD docking solutions too, but I use them when on-the-fly is needed.
This is like a battleground, except that you don't have holes in the ground.
