Sounds like another eventful year! I first visited the site around 2004-2005 back when it was mainly Gunpla content (if I remember correctly). Have been lurking ever since (should probably post more :P). Keep up the good work. Ganbatte for 2011.
I was only in Japan for a week when I visited, so stayed in Tokyo the whole time. Next time I hope to go for a bit longer and to spend most of my time exploring other places (Kyoto, Osaka, and maybe a few more).
Congratulations, the site deserves all the accolades it gets. I haven't been visiting many blogs about Japan recently (super busy with work), however I always try and check DC.com at least once a day.
Took a load of Yen with me to Japan as I had heard about it being a cash-only society. When I did run out I found a few ATMs however pretty much all of them refused to work with international cards (seems the only ones that do are located in Japanese...
I'm not particularly interested in dolls, but find myself checking out most of the articles anyway. It is your site, so of course you should continue to write about whatever interests you.
The speed of mobile broadband is pretty good in the UK (7.2Mbit max I believe - does it go higher in Japan?), however the monthly data allowances are pathetic; the best you can expect is about 15GB, and any excess usage will be charged at something c...
Got a Macbook Pro about a month ago. Really loving OS X so far, and only occasionally use XP for gaming. Not being able to hide the main menu bar or go into full screen in Firefox is slightly annoying though. FON looks pretty interesting, however I...
Bought a Macbook pro about three weeks ago. I'm liking OS X much more than Windows, and the overall performance of the machine is excellent. Little things like Expose make things so much quicker, and it comes pre-installed with most of the things I...
Wired have an article up about this: http://blog.wired.com/gadgets/2009/02/why-the-iphone.html . It suggests that the promotion is due to poor sales in Japan. I plan to write a few small iPhone apps in the near future, so it would be great to get one...
Spent only about $100 or so, but that was mainly because my bank balance was dry (from traveling to a load of other countries before Japan), and because I didn't have any space in my luggage to bring anything more back.
Looks cool. There is also quite a few augmented reality apps being developed for android phones: http://www.vimeo.com/843168 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EA8xlicmT8 Personally I'm looking forward to the day when proper overlay glasses (like th...
I remember going to one of these things when I was visiting a friend in New York (it was in Greenwich Village, Manhattan). Not into golf in general, but it was pretty fun none the less.
Typing this on a Vaio right now. It is getting pretty old (over 4 years!), so will be replaced very shortly though; I will probably get a MacBook as I want to try developing some apps for the iPhone, and to see if OSX deserves the hype.
How did you carry it all!? I went earlier this month, but only had remaining space in my suitcase for one figure (the Yuki Figma which you have too), some nendroids, and a couple of manga volumes.
Before I went to university I used to have a desktop, however since attending uni (now finished, but same situation) I find that I'm always jumping between a million different places, so having a laptop is much more convenient. Also, in the past few...
Merri Kurisumasu everyone! Unfortunately I didn't receive many presents this year, as I had already received a ton of cash from my parents to go travelling earlier in the year, but this is fine by me :P. In return, I bought a load of souvenirs (aka...
WANT! I was in Tokyo last week and purchased my first figure, a Yuki Nagato Figma, and it is great. A Mirai Figma would definitely be a welcome addition for expanding my set. Ionized has awesome skills, I think GoodSmile needs to employ him ^^. The...
