I find nearly all of it difficult to do, but I'm trying different ways to make the repetition fun. Carrying cards around with me and reading out the ones related to what I'm doing have made it a bit more interesting.
It was washing machine liquid, and we gave them sweets. I'm told it used to be tradition to give soba noodles, something to do with the length of the noodle signifying a long friendship. Maybe washing liquid signifies a non-smelly friendship ^^
It takes me about 40 minutes to get to Tokyo. From home to work it takes me about 1hr 40mins. I get a seat going both ways so I just open up the laptop, stick in my headphones and the time vanishes :)

Congrats Danny! I just arrived in Tokyo and bought myself a MacBook Pro. Best purchase I ever made. I can't afford to eat now, but at least I have the internet ^^ I'll have to look out for that magazine in the shops... not that I can read Japanese ye...
