This is the guy that led the effort to design the Toyota Prius Hybrid. I wonder how much further along the technology would be if he hadn't died back in 2006. BTW, Toyota doesn't require overtime in the US. They couldn't do it if they wanted to because it would give the UAW the opening they want to unionize Toyota's US factories. I'm an Olympus man myself. I like the 4/3rds system which allows for smaller (and lighter) lenses. Also, Olympus has image stabilization built into the camera instead of the lens like Canon does. The only real downside used to be noise when using higher ISOs (like ISO 1600) but the E510, 520, and E3 seem to have done a very good job of overcoming that. ( コメントを見る » )

Hey, a Gomi pile! Free TVs!! Those "run down" areas can hold some real gems. As Danny said, there isn't any crime problems in these areas. Its just that the buildings are old and not well maintained. When I was station at Camp Zama I would drive out to Yakota AFB every other weekend to go shopping, see friends, and get some Popeye's chicken. In Texas, we've got an express lane for executions and it still cost more to execute a criminal (after all appeals are exhausted, than it does to lockem' up and throw away the key... China is the only place I know of that executes and actually saves money on incarceration. I would love to get a Toto washlet for the Master Bathroom but the damn things are so expensive in the States. In Japan there are several manufacturers so the competition keeps prices reasonable. In the states you will spend a MINIMUM of $1000 for a washlet to attach to your existing toilet. My in-laws have one of these and it tried one for the first time last year. We all saw this coming. The smaller shops were slowly disappearing and there have been many people saying that otaku paradise of Akiba was slowly disappearing. If you think those benches are nice you should see the Romance Trains. They cost a bit more to use but have very nice seats and fewer stops. They also have concession areas so you can buy some snacks. Many have a nice lady that brings snacks to you. The seats can also be turned around so you can talk to people sitting behind you. Sleeping is rampant on these cars. Tons of salarymen use them to get home and those poor guys are usually dead tired by the time they reach the train. I've seen some Ganguro Girl's that I thought were very attractive but many just repulse me. However Yamamba girls are just plain ugly. They take a fashion trend to such an extreme that they scare small children. The sad thing is that many of these girls would be VERY attractive if they just did things normally or went with a vastly scaled back Ganguro style. Of course it is very common in the US. However I know exactly what Danny is talking about in Japan. When we go see my wife's parents in Hadano they always say that I touch too much. By touch they mean hugs and holding hands. I most certainly wasn't making out. We have four dogs. Two Labrador mix breeds, an Irish Setter, and a Westie have roaming rights in our house. We never bought or made clothing for our dogs until I got the Westie for my wife as an anniversary gift. Now she not only buys clothing for this dog but she makes them too.
