When I have to give a presentation, I always totally focus on the topic. Don't mind the amount of people, just imagine there would only be one person you want to explain something. And always keep in mind, that these people are there because they WANT to learn something from you, so there is no reason, why they should be offensive. I like to use the cinema displays from apple, they have a very good color accuracy and contrast range. Well they shure are pricy.... Ohh by the way I use a 23" cinema display and I love it because of it's full hd resolution and my 2. monitor is my old Sony monitor, which is pretty good too.
