I saw The Empire Strikes Back first in theaters, and then the original Star Wars on a Drive-In screen. After that, then I saw Return of the Jedi in theaters, and since then, those have been my favorites. RotJ is still painful to watch, the acting was wooden and the dialogue stale, but it was still fun. Of the new Prequels, I'd have to say that Ep 3 is my favorite. Episode 1 is my least favorite, being the most ludicrous of them all. But there are elements of that movie I do enjoy. If I was to cosplay a character from Star Wars, I'd... ( コメントを見る » )

The Ez8 is nice, but I'll always prefer the RX-79[G]. I built a master grade kit several years ago, and it's been my favorite ever since. I was thinking of building another recently, as this one was assembled with no paint. ( コメントを見る » )

Welcome to the light. :) My first computer was a Commodore VIC=20 with a Datasette drive, though originally I used a couple old Commodore PETs in my elementary school. After the VIC=20, I had a Commodore 64, then a 64C, which I used for at least 12 years. I still look back fondly as those old Commodore years. Always wished I had gotten an Amiga, but alas I didn't. Danny, that chip was the SID (Sound Integer Device) chip. Martin Galway was a brilliant music designer on the C64. I have downloaded a TON of Galway remixes. ( コメントを見る » )

I remember the same thing happening back in the 80's when parents and the media blamed Dungeons & Dragons for why kids became violent. Same thing happened with Heavy Metal Music, TV Shows, Cartoons, and more. Scapegoats, all of them. I think the real problem isn't this stuff at all, but society and the kid's parents. But no, the parent's will say. "Not my child, they were well adjusted until this crap came along", right? Just watch. Unfortunately, 6 examples does not an epidemic or trend make. If this was true,... ( コメントを見る » )

I agree that smoking in restaurants should be banned, but not in bars or Pachinko parlors. I think some bars should offer smoke free environs by choice, not by force. The smoking ban here in New York state had caused major problems, especially with businesses like Bars, since most of their customers were smokers. The Ban was put in place to protect the health of employees, but I look at working in a bar as an assumption of risk with the affects of 2nd hand smoke. As long as employees are aware of the risks, there shouldn't be a ban on smok... ( コメントを見る » )

You have to remember, this is a patent application, not a granted patent, so the drawings only give the general explanation of how the device works. A company doesn't want to put detailed drawings and diagrams into a patent application, seeing as their competitors will steal idea if they do. Frankly, I'm waiting for the version that's built into contacts. ( コメントを見る » )

I first watched Anime in the form of Star Blazers, (Space Battleship Yamato) about 26 or 27 years ago. It may have been longer than that, but I can't remember for sure. I only remember drawing pictures of the Yamato when I was a kid. I wish I still had those youthful scrawls today. I wonder how bad they were back then...? ( コメントを見る » )

Danny, Awesome Awesome videos. I believe you can still put iMovie HD on your Mac if you have the iLife install discs, btw. I recommend Final Cut Express though if you want to have more control in your video editing. I'm working with Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro while editing a DVD project for a local Theatre Group. LOTS of stuff involved, but I'm learning a lot, too. Say, you wouldn't need a Video Editor or media Specialist would ya? ;-) On the English books, those books were hilarious. When I visited Japan in October of l... ( コメントを見る » )

While I'm not so much of a G1 purist as you, I also wasn't all the keen on the designs from the live action flick. However, being that they used Peter Cullen to reprise his voice role for Optimus Prime, it brought that character to life for me in a way that no other voice actor could have done. Be that as it may, this figure has incredible detail and I think most accurately reproduces the onscreen CGI design incredibly well! I prefer my Masterpiece Convoy figure as the best Prime figure ever, but I believe I would definitely buy this ... ( コメントを見る » )

Based on the look of the cars, I'd have to say that it's definitely post WWII. Probably early to mid 1950's. ( コメントを見る » )

I'm wondering if this is where my Dad took this picture of himself back in 1954.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/78769414@N00/1442905809/in/set-72157602926431813/ By the way, Danny, there's tons of photos in my Flickr account that my Dad took while stationed in Tokyo from 1954-1956. One of my plans next year when I return to Japan is to visit Tokyo and see if I can find the locations of many of his pho... ( コメントを見る » )

Book-Off is AWESOME! We went to a Book-Off in Sanda and I wound up buying 4 Manga and a Returner photo magazine for about ¥550. I was impressed, and the people I stayed with were kind of surprised we have so many second hand stores here in the US where I live. I told them it was very common. When we go back, Book-Off is definitely on our shop-at list. :) ( コメントを見る » )

I never visited Akiba when I was in Japan last year. (*sigh*...last year? It was only 3 months ago!) But on our next visit, I plan on Spending a week in Tokyo. My Dad was Stationed in Japan between 1954-1956 and took lots of photos. I've been scanning the old 35mm Negatives and posting them in my Flickr account. What I'd like to do is find the old places where he visited and take pictures now from where he took his photos to see how much things have changed. I know the old Hardy Barracks don't exist anymore. I wonder what else is... ( コメントを見る » )

I don't have any (known) illnesses, so I can't make any claims to that fact. (Unless a chronic obsession with collecting Transformers toys can be called an illness. Plastic Crack Addiction? Diecast-osis?) A couple friends of mine however do have problems with their backs. Similar to you, one friend has a slipped disc and deals with pain almost daily. My eldest sister has lived with disability since she was a baby. She was born with severe hearing loss, and Cerebral Palsy, which causes a weakness in her motor functions, and can caus... The MacBook Air looks absolutely stunning. I would love to have one and I can really see it's usefulness for people who have a main computer/Mac at home, but need something light and compact for travel. The lack of an Optical Drive and firewire ports isn't going to be an issue for people who don't need them on the go. However, for someone like me, who uses his Macs for video editing and ISP support, I need the additional ports for specific needs. Therefore, though the Air would be a fantastic computer to play with, I have no spec... ( コメントを見る » )
